I'm definitely feeling sorry for Rachel. I hoped against hope that Taub would behave himself. :-(
13 continues to annoy me. Tonight she was playing House Whisperer because
Really? I didn't see that at all. More like the Taub Whisperer to me.

As out of place as the 10 years ago reference in the timeline, they manage to be consistent with Season Five's "Lucky Thirteen" with the reference to Mickey's Diner and Wilson's love for the French toast tower?

Only people who go into an open marriage at the beginning usually make a success of it, at least for awhile. Starting that up in the middle of things is a recipe for crazy.
Taub pretty much went off with Maya when it was forbidden, if you think about it. When he had permission, he couldn't do it.

She did that whole speech early in the episode where she concluded that House was being romantic.

I thought it was interesting how the writers used Thirteen to play with the third leg in this stool of an open marriage, being that she's the daughter of someone who had an affair. She can represent the point of view the daughter may one day have, seeing the affair as something her father needed emotionally during that time, and the lying as something her mother needed.
After all, in this case there aren't just two people affected by the decision, but also the daughter (and, to a lesser extent, the current boyfriend).
And also Yay! for her snarking on the idea that a woman wanting to have sex is solely a symptom.

I noticed that too ;) because her little speech sounded pretty contrived to me.
Thinking about it, House should actually thank Sam for what she did to Wilson back then, otherwise he probably wouldn't have noticed Wilson at the conference and they wouldn't have become friends ;).
Asking Wilson if he's free for dinner, after Wilson had just broken up with Sam, was kind of sad. On the surface House only said it for fun, but I suspect that he was partly serious about it, which means that he's already feeling neglected and that last scene seems to confirm that.

True, but I got her point, so I didn't really think it was any big House Whispering moment. YMMV.

I think he does feel left out. We know that he doesn't want to be alone. He does want companionship. He had to deal with Cuddy being in a relationship with Lucas, but he still had Wilson. Now Wilson is with someone. They looked domestically happy at the end, and House looked as if he didn't belong. I really felt bad for him at the end.
I liked that he referred to Cuddy as a friend during the office scene.
And I will never get tired of saying it...at least tonight....I want to beat up Taub.
I like Chase, but I kept yelling at him to keep his hands off the whiteboard.

It was an okay episode. Not the best but not the worst.
Taub is a friggin idiot. I really hope Rachel dumps him soon. She really can do much better and she's been through and put up with too much already in this relationship. Good for her for trying to accommodate him though.
I'm going to stop thinking about the screwed up timeline of Wilson and Sam because Doris admitted that it was a mistake. Sam still hasn't really done anything for me. She's not bad, she's just not interesting. I can't really see the relationship lasting.
But OCD!Wilson was hilarious.
There has been far too much Thirteen these past few episodes. Since when did she become the resident relationship councilor?

My DVD player quit recording just as Taub was starting to kiss whats-her-name. Did he clearly go on to cheat?

Yes, the barstad.

Taub sucks. Hope Rachael boots his sorry ass. And House is becoming a third wheel. So even though he's sharing an apartment with Wilson, it's now depressing for him to be there. OMG, does this mean House and Taub move in together? That would be "The Even Odder Couple."
I though 13's speech deconstructing House's motives was House Whispering, but she seems to Whisper everyone sooner or later. That's an annoying aspect of her character that I wish the writers would let go. I really like OW but 13 is such an FKIA it still grates, but way less than it used to.
Taaaubbbb!!!! *shakes fist*

I feel for you, House... (and I loved him displacing the milk, again! :D)
Taub?...go away! (but P Jac's representation of Taub was really good. Who can hate him really?)
I agree that Thirteen's been a relationship consultant recently. Maybe it's because she's the only one who's been good at relationship thing, so far. Her leaving Forman was a good move. ;)

Taub's a neat character when he just gets to be snarky in the background, but focus on him and his marriage woes is the cure for insomnia. I think I'd actually rather watch focus on Foreman.
I know the feeling. This one goes right to the bottom of my list for this season. For me the whole episode was pretty meh. Not really an episode of House. More like an episode of Doctors' Housewives.
I did like picky/OCD Wilson. Wow, he can be quite a pain, but how in the world can he live with House but fuss that much at Sam? Maybe he just has a need to fuss, and while House gives him lots to fuss about, he has to find smaller things to nitpick about with Sam.
angelcat2865- 04-26-2010
I liked the episode over all but the ending really made me sad.
Taub is a prick, I hope Rachael kicks him to the curve. And how was it House's fought that Taub asked his wife about an open marriage. I mean Taub is a big boy and House was not holding a gun on him. Sorry end rant.
I felt bad for House in the end because I think he is rally is feeling like an outsider right now. He is acting out again to get Wilson's attention, but more cautious this time he has not forgot what happened with Amber.
Now for Wilson: Wilson is a good guy, but I think Bonnie got it right when she said that Wilson is there for you until he isn't. Wilson seems to get so wrap up in any new relationship that he is in that he is pretty much blind to everything else . He did not notice that Cuddy did not want to advise him last episode and he has been missing House's increasing pain. Right now he only seems to notice House when he is misbehaving (example:being angry at House because he took his advice and it caused a fight but not wanting to let House know it helped.) He did this with Amber too. and I am afraid it will be another recipe for disaster but this time it will be only House paying the price.
As for Thirteen, she needs to learn to keep her month shut every once in a while.
