I'm so happy to see Cynthia Watros. I think she's awesome. We'll see how Sam turns out
Some great one liners tonight:
"I think that's called breakfast in Australia."
"Hope they bought you dinner first."
Ugh. Lucas. Why is he on my TV screen? Blissfully short at least.
And House is trying to behave himself. Kinda. I get it though - I would stick up for my friend as well and be protective if I knew they were taking up again with someone who broke their heart.

"I liked him better when he was on Vicodin."
Chase honey, were you breaking the fourth wall there?
I was very pleased when House got all protective on Wilson's ass. I wasn't surprised by his loyalty. However, I din't expect him to be so menacing towards Sam. HL played that scene really well.
ETA: There were a lot of lines that I wanted to remember. Just like the old days! I wish I had taken notes.

Seriously! I need some sort of warning before he pops up on my screen, I was so unprepared to see him, it really threw me in that moment ;).

I am really annoyed that I missed the first 9 minutes but I now have a new insult in my arsenal -- embossed carbuncle.
I'm glad that House's opposition to Sam is because he's trying to protect Wilson, rather than that he's trying to protect himself. Baby steps, but he is trying.
House had the sword in his hand. Why didn't he just stab Lucas?
radiosweetheart- 04-19-2010
Full of good lines ("I'll outlast you." Ooooh! Snappage!) and House in costume and fun. I kinda kept getting distracted by shiny things (or commercials, one of those) so I might want to catch it online to enjoy it all proper like.
But seriously, Lucas is still on this show? Why?
Chipmunk_love- 04-19-2010
Well, I missed the first 20 minutes because of a school event, but what I saw of this episode was pretty good. I love how protective House is being of Wilson, and even if this relationship with Sam blows up in his face like we all know it has to eventually, I hope Wilson gets a lot of pleasure and happiness out of this time. He deserves it.
For a second I thought Lucas was going to be the "druggist" in the apothecary. The beard looked familiar.
Namaste- 04-19-2010
I'm too full of flaily joy at the appearance (sound wise) of Richard & Linda Thompson music at the end of the episode to stop smiling. Am I reading too much into the fact that the album that song, "Just The Motion" is taking from is all about a battered relationship?
Also, it's fun seeing the way Chase plays off of the other characters. He was enjoying needling Taub (taking on 3 guys in college?) and then his reaction to both Thirteen and Taub during the "I think they call that breakfast in Australia" was a hoot too.
Further note: This episode was directed by Juan Jose Campanella, who won the Oscar this year for best foreign film.

Great episode.
I loved the scene between House and Sam during dinner. That was well played. It was chilling.
What was going on with Cuddy? She seemed kind of depressed. I did enjoy her scene with House.
House/Lucas relationship is odd to me. I don't know what to expect or think about it.
House's leg pain is getting worse, and the Ibuprofen isn't helping. How long can he last before he heads back to the heavier stuff? It just doesn't seem right that he is suffering with this pain.
House calling 13 Frodo and Taub Gollum  Chase not knowing Frodo was hilarious.
For a second I thought Lucas was going to be the "druggist" in the apothecary. The beard looked familiar
Me too, haha.

I like Lucas. He adds something to the show that none of the other characters bring. I think it's cheeriness. Why does everyone else hate him?
And I didn't like this episode. I wasn't interested in Sam at all except as it related to House. Amber was so much better. Can she rise from the dead?
The patient story sucked. It's not even a mystery anymore. I mean it is, but the last compelling ones were early in season 6.
Advice for the writer: Stop trying to develop the fellows except for maybe in the context of working on the case. I don't care about Taub's marriage or Foreman's brother, or Thirteen's Huntingtons. Except do develop Chase and the whole Dibala thing. What happened with that?
Keep going on House/Cuddy/Wilson. Any combination of the three is excellent, but if one of them (besides House) is going to have their own side story then we need it to be interesting. Not just coming up with a new character for one of them to date for its own sake.
And finally I know it must be hard, but the patient stories are just flat these days. Try to work on that.
Also, what's with the constant Taub abuse? Foreman deserved the abuse he got in the earlier seasons. Taub is a good guy, just extremely short.
MOD NOTE:Don't double post. Edit your post. Wait a minute or three for someone else to post and then add your thought. Or just decide that your second thought was really not worth the effort. But don't double post. edited by RSH, resident meanie

Liked him last year but when he loosened the grab rail in the bathroom he lost me. You can literally kill someone doing that.

Taub can more than hold his own, don't worry. Besides, I get the feeling he gets a kick out of getting in the middle of an insult battle with anyone.

There were some good lines in the episode, but it was only an average episode (which still makes it better than 99% of seasons 4 & 5). What annoys me though is that 13 is always the "cool" one with the upper hand. Everyone on the show has their moments of making a fool of themselves or being made a fool of except her. It makes it really hard to like her since they beat us over the head with how superior she is. I thought Sam was interesting and I wondered how much of her appeal to House at the end was real and how much was acting. I enjoyed Chase as always.

Maybe my expectations were low because the preview looked goofy, but I really enjoyed this ep.
The knight's story was really well done, recalling the Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot triangle without clanging the audience over the head with it. Plus I liked the idea that William separated his real life from the fantasy of knighthood. I also was definitely spooked a bit when House got that rash. Also liked the little underlying notes of men being foolish for honor in the story - William's drug use to win fights, Chase trying to break down the door, House's sad attempt to defend Wilson from a potential enemy on the date.
Also I laughed at the "Frodo" conversation. Taub, I totally thought you'd be Frodo, too. (I mean, c'mon. Thirteen's obviously rather elfin.) Chase, how do you not know who that is?
What was going on with Cuddy? She seemed kind of depressed. I did enjoy her scene with House.
I thought Cuddy wasn't depressed, just holding her tongue and trying not to offer advice or her opinion on Wilson dating Sam. Like House, she's trying to let Wilson make his own decisions and proceed on his own. (Remember how hard she came down on him dating Amber?)
House had the sword in his hand. Why didn't he just stab Lucas?
Excellent question. Chase could have helped him make it look like an accident and they'd be even.
LightMyCandle- 04-19-2010
So, Lucas still exists. That really sucks. I was hoping he had disappeared.
Chase not knowing who Frodo was kind of made my night. He's so cute.
I'm not sure about Sam yet. I really just want Wilson to be happy, so we'll see.
The dinner aside, I liked House's protectiveness better this time around. It seemed less selfish. Usually, when there's a woman in Wilson's life, possessiveness seems to be House's primary attitude. This time, I honestly felt like he thinks Sam is going to hurt Wilson and doesn't want that to happen. It was nice.
I thought 13 was pretty cool this episode too.
