I liked this episode very much. Well how could I not like an ep with NEKKID HOUSE? I almost wish they'd opened with the House-Sam encounter because I thought the Fair scene went on way too long. I enjoyed the banter amongst the team and wish we got even more of that. I'd prefer that to some of the personal stuff they show to get the team some screen time. Almost called them the Ducklings just then, but that just doesn't seem right somehow. For a man who claims to be so shy, Hugh certainly has taken it all off on quite a few occasions. I remember that in an interview he once said that some of his friends had accused him of enjoying stripping down in front of the camera. I'm beginning to think they were right. Not that I mind. ETA: I couldn't quite figure out what was going on with Cuddy tonight. To me she seemed very distracted, almost sad.

He looks so at ease in those scenes and he has done quite a bit of it, I think he may have a more European attitude about nudity in general, though I suspect it is a bit uncomfortable for him personally. But he also probably had a skinny speedo or at least a knob sock on. Or the writers like to torture him. :-)

My husband had to stand in line to jump into the same bath of cold water every morning even in the depths of winter before getting washed and dressed. The rule was that your backside had to hit the bottom of the tub before getting out. Getting used to lack of privacy is supposedly one reason why public schoolboys manage quite well in prison, should they happen to end up there!

I really really enjoyed the epi. Hugh nude, in an epron, in costume...what else can you expect? :P And seriously, the PotW, the plot, Wilson/Sam/House plot, they were all interesting. (Are there people who really live like that? I first thought it an attraction of the theme park or something.) It was a nice change from the last week's unconventional House episode. But how many times did we see House take the Ibuprofen? 4 times? Things are going bad toward the end of the season...and I'm worried already. Anyway, I thought it was a very good epi. and I'm very much interested in what'll happen between Wilson/Sam and House next week. The actress who did Sam was very attractive and good. I can see Wilson will be an easy prey, if Sam is what House believes to be. :D

Sister Trixi- 04-20-2010

I liked this episode. No big complaints, really. The continuity monkeys were on my nerves. I thought House once told Wison that he'd met all of his (Wilson's) wives so why didn't he know who Sam was? Sam told House that her relationship with Wilson ended "nearly a decade ago." I thought Wilson said last week that it was around 1990-91. Did I misunderstand? The cheesey, opening scene reminded me of my other favorite show, Robin Hood and so I think I'll have a soft spot in my heart for this one. I enjoyed HL's acting in the scene at the dinner table with Sam. He does menacing well, too.

Cuddyclothes- 04-20-2010

What was going on with Cuddy was that when she said there were things Wilson didn't tell House, he blurted out something about her having slept with (I think) her boyfriend's dad. So I interpreted the lunch scene as her being REALLY pissed at Wilson but not saying a word, which is why he said, "Am I insane?" at getting no reaction from Cuddy about anything he said. I enjoyed this episode a lot, but there were two things that whizzed by me: where did William's being a witch come into it? And how did he get the hemlock and no one else did? Could someone enlighten me? Landbreaking personal moment: my husband SAT DOWN AND WATCHED THE EPISODE WITH ME! And he laughed a lot! We both loved all of the Wilson/Sam/House stuff (and yes, I had to keep the squeeing to myself when they showed House nekkid). Especially the tranny and Sam comparing notes on their hometown. Yes, I am tired of Thirteen being the only one who never gets made to look ridiculous (I was hoping they'd put her in a page costume at the faire, not that it would have looked ridiculous). I loved Chase trying to break down the door and taking that spectacular pratfall; Taub in every scene he was in (although Foreman's "you never won a fight" begged for a line for Taub reminding Foreman that he roundhoused him in the previous ep.) Lucas and House's relationship doesn't add up at all. The man tried to effing kill him, for God's sake! I was also delighted that they were showing the pill bottle and his gulping pills. I'm one of those sickos, as you know, who's hanging on for the relapse. (Also so I have someone on TV who has to swallow a lot of pills; it's like having an imaginary drinking buddy.) One totally whiny semi-OT note: the fic I've been working on since February is set in the 18th century; there aren't any knights or anything like that, but swords and apothecaries figure largely in the story. Now readers--what few there are--are going to think I'm copying this episode. Oh, well, at least I'm not having Wilson cook pancakes or rub the back of his neck. Another favorite moment: when the "king" pulled out his cell phone and called 911 in his real voice.

Namaste- 04-20-2010

I viewed the scene with Cuddy and Wilson not as Cuddy being mad, but being put in an uncomfortable place in which she doesn't want to give him relationship advice, but also doesn't want him to be hurt -- not being mad at Wilson or depressed or anything. But then I've been in that same place far too many times. What I'm thinking: "You're a strong woman, what are you doing getting mixed up with that idiot again?" What I say: "As long as you're sure. You know your feelings better than I do."

Jane Doe- 04-20-2010

I think that it's a little bit of both. Why does she still tell him things like that? Doesn't she already know that he can't keep his mouth shut? She slept with her father's best friend! I am going to go ahead and guess that she was a teenage W-O-M-A-N like Marizza. I thought that it was stupid to give this episode to a writer who's never worked for the show before when they had all these filler episodes in the middle of the season, but wow! He managed to fit in it a good PoTW, a new character, all the members of the team... He gave Cuddy *two* scenes and he even brought in Lucas! Wow! Although, of course the House/Lucas scene concerning Cuddy didn't make it in the episode. How come Cuddy was around when Sam left Wilson the first time? Even if House brought him to PPTH the day he got hired, did he start working there in 1990-1991? When Chase failed to open the door, I thought that the patient and his creepy eyes (so, so creepy when they were all red like that!) would have to watch out, in case he'd need to feel like a manly man. I mean, dope is wrong right? Evil Cameron judged that athlete back in the 2nd season... By the way, why does House never close the damn backpack? It's irritating! Especially the way he throws it around all the time! It makes me sad to see House in more pain... I really don't want him to go back to Vicodin. Ibuprofen is prettier than Vicodin, too. I'm sick of that orange pill bottle, I see it everywhere. I felt a little sorry for Sam. The look on her face when Wilson was coming back from the bathroom! That was mean. I was like :O The dinner was kind of funny, mostly House closing his ears. How tiny a town is Bloomington? And why is the strip club one of the first things you want to mention about your town? My cat viciously attacked me during naked House, so I missed the 1st scene. I also missed the last scene and the promo, because of the garbage track. Wilson was so cute when he was smiling in the scene with Cuddy! But I bet naked House was less awkward than him kissing Sam. Any chance Sam and Cuddy can be BFFs? Yeah, I didn't think so... OMG, I really liked the episode! Even the commercials didn't make me want to throw a fit? Did I say that right?

Did Wilson say something about his marriage with Sam being 12 years ago? Does anyone want to make a stab at putting that in the House timeline chronology?

sasmom- 04-20-2010

It can't possible fit in the timeline. Bad Timeline goofs here. House brought Wilson to PPTH so he would not have known Wilosn (or not well). He and Sam were married before House ever knew Wilson. This is all canon. Oy.

iamdaffodils- 04-20-2010

I really enjoyed this episode a lot. The shallow stuff as has been said, was beyond lovely: House naked, naked with apron, apron over tee and the Renaissance costume - hard to choose a favorite - almost. ;) And the sword juggling. I loved that he knew what everything was in the apothecary shop - and was hoping Hugh would break out his real accent there! The increasing leg pain was hard to watch. Makes me worry about the future. I felt like cooking the meal was as much a part of his master plan re Sam and Wilson, as it was about him trying to find something to take his mind off the pain. All in all, a very good episode from start to finish.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hugh play a nice, juicy, villainous role in a movie some day. :)

Poeia- 04-20-2010

Fits the time line for me. You just have to shove it (hard) to make it work. Sam and Wilson were married in 1990-1991 (Lockdown). In 1991, fresh out of med school, he went to a conference in New Orleans where he met House (Birthmarks) carrying the divorce papers with him wherever he went. Sam & Wilson continued to have contact for a few more years during which time she met House. As a result, he knew her well enough to call her (Frozen.) By the end of the 90s, she and Wilson had lost contact. When House asked Cuddy if she remembered how Wilson was the last time, he was not referring to the last time Sam and Wilson broke up but the last time Wilson got divorced. (Although Cuddy doesn't know about his having an affair with a patient, she does know about his living in a hotel and maybe some other stuff.)

Namaste- 04-20-2010

So the reference to "10 years ago" is when they were last in contact, not when they were first divorced? I can buy that, Poeia.

Poeia- 04-20-2010

I just watched the nekkid scene. House didn't meet Sam during the post-divorce period so I guess they just knew each others' names (and House still called her in Frozen.)
