A couple of quick thoughts: RSL in the furniture store was comedy gold. Taub trying to get his phone away from House was hilarious as well. Holy HoYay, Batman - that look that Wilson gave House after House said "I like what this says about you, Wilson." ::fans self:: Taub and Rachel are very sweet. The scene with Taub and House at the end was lovely until Taub was chatting with the blonde nurse. Poor House - no good role models of happy relationships around him.

Oh, Taub, you better not break my heart. And just when I thought it was going to be something about a Bad!Dad! from her past, it's a future Dad in law who's done the dirty work. Good fake out with the younger version of her.

I know, right? I love Taub so much! I don't want him to go back to being a nasty philanderer!

radiosweetheart- 03-15-2010

Taub, sweetie, look at all the pies in the bakery window, but please have dessert at home. Wilson's love for House is so true and good and adorable. I love them so much. Probably not nearly as much as they love each other, tho. Why do people keep trying to pretend there's any chance of House/Cuddy or Wilson/Non-House Lady? Whoever it is, it'll just be a distraction. It won't be real and true. As for the patient--girl, you have lady bits, go to any bar and be conscious & you can get a piece of ass. No need to fuck yr future father in law. Stupid much?

Anyone else having "Odd Couple" flashbacks to the time Felix bought all that ultramodern furniture (potato-chip chair, another chair shaped like a hand)? And was anyone else hoping Wilson would actually buy all that weird stuff -- especially the wicker Cheerio -- and freak House out? Organ scene had me squeeing and clapping like a little girl who just blew out all her birthday candles. But then, I always react that way to House's smile. This ep. was just the right mix of PotW, team on the job, team (i.e. Taub) off the job, and House/Wilson. I've missed that, as much as I've enjoyed the heavier-on-the-House/Wilson and House/Personal Demons episodes. ::Still grinning::

I got a giggle out of the whole "pick on Foreman" bits running throughout it. (Though he's the perfect character to both be a party pooper, and I loved the others' reaction to it.) Nice that we had both a House contemplating scene and a House playing music scene. I'm trying to decide, though, if from Wilson's comment about "move the piano in here" whether House has the piano in his own "suite," so to speak. The drawings and model that Greg Yaitanes showed back in the fall made it look like each bedroom had its own private quarters sort of area -- or at least that it was possible. If so, that might also be an explanation (if a fanwanked one) as to why there was almost no furniture in the rest of the condo. If they each have a couple of rooms to call their own, then they could easily be using the couches/chairs from their respective apartments in the sitting room area -- and House could have his piano there as well. I do think, however, that unless there's volume control on that organ, Wilson may be resulting his purchase right around 3 a.m. some day. ETA: And I dug the camera movement throughout this episode (thanks Greg Yaitanes) especially the dissolve from the solar system to the at the end of the opener leading to the credits.

I usually love Kaplow episodes, and although I always prefer more House, it was a good balance between the PoTW, the team, Taub and Rachel, and H/W. And Wilson buying House the organ, and then Hugh playing Whiter Shade of Pale was just pure love. Gah.

Manicman- 03-15-2010

I thought this episode sucked. It just fell flat on pretty much every front. I mean it was more relationship development but none of it seemed genuine or even entertaining. The one cool thing was the mind reading machine, but if you think about it, it had no real reason to be in the episode. And the final diagnosis was a real stretch. She has an allergy to the shell of a parisite that she caught from having sex with her boyfriend's dad. Also look at this cool blackhole. Season 6 seems to alternate between real winners and real losers.

Poeia- 03-15-2010

Oh good. We haven't had a "sex will kill you" story for a while. Lots of callbacks to earlier episodes. "Maybe she's allergic to something inside her" (Damned If You Do); The outer space stuff (Cane and Able). For a second I thought it would be chimerism. Testing the boyfriend's semen (Safe) Wilson in a furniture store (Living the Dream) The posters in Wilson's office reflect his taste. I could see Wilson being hung up on needing it to look perfect and being unable to furnish a whole room because he couldn't see how to tie it all together. I don't believe the man is incapable of buying a recliner. I know I've seen Cuddy in House's old apartment. So how can she insult his ability to select furniture (especially as she never saw the orange couch.) I adore everything in the old apartment (except the plumbing.) Loved House sending sexy messages to Rachel Taub and Taub trying to grab the phone back. PJac is a really good sport about his size. Loved, loved, loved everyone chiming in that they have told Foreman that he's a buzzkill. But overall, it was an okay but nothing special episode for me.

Well if this wasn't a filler ep than I don't know what qualifies. Do the writers really think we love Wilson this much? Can you imagine if they spent all this time showing Cuddy sitting on various pieces of furniture indecisively only to go the radical route of paying someone to do it for her? Anyone else feel the pervy dad thing was the show once again trying too hard to be shocking? It felt almost gratuitous and not at all unexpected. Once again House is the only one who thinks daddy is doing her and is proved right and doesn't really care about the morality of the issue b/c he is a maverick/only interested in puzzle. It's almost like he was congratulating the bf's dad on her being legal when he patted him on the shoulder "ironically??" (I don't even know anymore). The only thing missing from the usual formula was the duckings telling House he was way off base and how could he even think that blah blah blah. And I could care less if Taub is cheating on his wife. But I enjoyed Taub trying to snatch the phone from House during the sexting.

wintertide- 03-15-2010

This will be one of my favorite episodes ever. The POTW was boring, and I don't care about Taub, but I don't care. It still is one of the best ever. Poor confused Wilson, the furniture shopping scene was adorable. And the organ scene is among the greatest H/W scene ever, very close to "if you die, I'm alone." Seriously, nothing could say true love more than buying someone an organ. The looks between House and Wilson made up for all the boring parts of the episode, and more so. And yeah, to answer another posts question, some of us do love Wilson enough to make this episode awesome.

radiosweetheart- 03-15-2010

Do the writers really think we love Wilson this much? Yes, they do. Because, guess what--many, many people totally do.

melly- 03-15-2010

I thought this one was pretty boring. Cute ending with the organ, and I got a kick out of everyone saying Foreman was a buzzkill- other than that, it was a bit of a snoozer.

Because, guess what--many, many people totally do.I'm sure fans like Wilson but that storyline was so outside the tone of the show it was ridiculous. Just b/c he's Wilson, doesn't mean we wanna see him doing mundane crap like furniture shopping AGAIN (didn't we already see him try to pick out a mattress?). What next? Wilson getting his teeth cleaned? It was almost like the writers intended to display a jump the shark moment. I get that the show is in its sixth season but c'mon!
