Liked this one a lot. More laughs than we've usually gotten lately, and that's fine with me, and though the pranks stretched the point a bit, I don't think they went completely over the top, not for a show that's used trip-wires. Loved all the Chase we got tonight, and Jesse was very good, as usual. I wonder about that scene where Wilson asked House if he was using vicodin again, and House just said to trust him. That sounded to me like he may be using 'just a little now and then' to handle the pain. We all know where that's liable to lead. :( I was just so happy to see a new episode tonight. For some reason it felt to me as though the show had been away for months rather than weeks.

And Cameron's favorite book is the Golden Bowl? Interesting. Nice idea, Ms Egan! She really doesn't miss a trick. Looking forward to this episode.

Am I the only one whose DVR cut off while Wilson was still talking? Can someone tell me what was said at the very end?

I loved it! One of the best this season for me. It was about a damn time they gave us some Chase/Wilson love! These two have never shared real scenes. The last one I remember was the one in season 3 where House hit Chase. It was nice (and very believable) that Wilson came to Chase for some House dirt. I wish they go on like that!! More Chase/Wilson!! The House-Chase-Wilson speedating was pure gold! Poor Wilson. I really liked Chase during this one (well I always love him even when he killed some dictator  ). It was obvious he was shaken by the revelation and that made him think about his relationship with Cameron. Maybe she never loved him. As for Chase/13 scenes, I liked it. Of course, like a lot of people I had a weird vib about it and just wish they are not going on that road. But, in a way, 13 and Chase seem to be friend (remember the scene in the car in a previous episode) and she is the only other female character on this show, so who else.

Am I the only one whose DVR cut off while Wilson was still talking? Can someone tell me what was said at the very end? Wilson asked whether House found anything beyond the "God stuff" in the sermons. House replied there was just more God stuff. Then the camera panned back inside the lobby as Cuddy came by and told someone to get maintenance to take down the sign, and then panned up to show a banner of the Wilson movie poster draped across the lobby. Looking at the big themes of this episode, it's interesting how many of them all came together. Established by the blogger -- what we choose to share and what we keep private (in her case almost everything and just her bathroom use) -- and public perceptions/private thoughts, we've obviously got Wilson who wants to keep the film private, which House wants to make public and Wilson's desire to make public some secret of House's followed by his move to keep the real issues behind that book private. There's Taub, accused by Thirteen of hiding everything, Chase and his questioning of the public face and what it means when trying to find deeper meaning beyond outward appearances (and Thirteen's comments on it). There's even Foreman on his issue of being upset at being seen as condescending by the patient's blogger friends. (Patient: "Then maybe you shouldn't say condescending things.") And of course the speed dater with the fake crossword puzzle set up to establish an fake story of first impressions for her. All in all, lots of thematic threads that all intertwined well, I thought.

It was about a damn time they gave us some Chase/Wilson love! Hell, yes!! We were long overdue for that. I always knew those two would rock in a scene together. This episode had me laughing from start to finish, and yet I felt like it had some real depth to it as well. The House-Wilson-Chase speed dating was a riot. Especially loved Wilson turning into every woman's therapist (Do you wanna talk about it?) and Chase acting like a total tool. (Good Lord, JS can be so funny when they let him.) Yay! For the return of Chase's super diagnostic skills. God, Chase really is pretty. I loved that Wilson was such a good friend to House that he wasn't willing to use the book for revenge. At the same time, I loved that Chase was evil and House-like enough to do it.

Thanks, Namaste! I try to remember to go in and give it a few extra minutes each week, but sometimes I forget. I know this is nitpicky but it's the librarian in me: a bookjacket from a much bigger book, wouldn't fit a smaller book. There should have been some other reason Chase knew it wasn't the book on the jacket. Maybe just the fact that House is reading something purporting to be literature? Have we ever seen him read anything that wasn't a medical journal or tabloid?

I thoroughly enjoyed that episode. The PoTW really upset me at first; her disregard for the man whom she lived with clashed so severely with her addiction for the feelings of strangers that I was almost uncomfortable every time she appeared on the screen (kuddos to the actress for that). But she eventually became more human to me, mostly because her boyfriend (with whom I empathized) did not leave her. The tiny interaction between House and Cuddy make me laugh: it was a nicely playful moment that was neither blown out of proportion or vivisected on screen. Very enjoyable! Chase is beautiful? Tell us something we do not know. As for House and Wilson... Well, how could an episode that focuses heavily on them not be wonderful? Not only was the idea of Wilson featuring in a porn and House lapping it up absolutely delightful, but it was also very interesting to see the situation evolve from purely comical to meaningful. Wilson stopped playing the embarrassment game and tried to figure out what was going on with his friend. Furthermore, his interpretation of House's actions seemed convincing to me. Wrong perhaps, but convincing. Above all, I liked the change that House now appears to go through. As far as I "understand" him, he has never been one to look back, to dwell on the past. So for him to show any kind of interest in his biological father's personality -the personality of a man who failed, perhaps unknowingly, to be his "daddy" back when it mattered and who never will be able to make up for the missed opportunity- is intriguing. I believe the "old" House would prefer to let bygones be bygones and not bother with them; the "new" House actually looks into the rear-view mirror and tries to use what he sees there to move forward. Nice change. Moreover, it feels like the writers are really trying to tie things together these days, which is extremely pleasant to watch. House figured out John was not his "real" father when he was twelve. I guess it was around that time young Gregory also found out who his biological father was. Assuming Bio!Dad did not become a minister late in his life, it would mean that House has always known he was the son of a religious man. If it is true, it may explain how House can, simultaneously, "be angry with God and not believe in Him" (Damned If You Do). Finally: not enough Taub. But I'll try to survive.

I was so relieved that House wasn't actually trying to find comfort in religion, for a moment there, I thought the show was gonna go there... There's even Foreman on his issue of being upset at being seen as condescending by the patient's blogger friends. (Patient: "Then maybe you shouldn't say condescending things.") ;) That line had me cheering for the whole episode, finally someone told Foreman! (and I really need to do something about my Foreman hatred...) But seriously, I'm always amazed at how surprised Foreman appears to be when things like that happen. He really needs to work on his self-perception and/or his behaviour. LOL, just rewatched that scene, the look on Taub's face, when he's nodding in agreement with the POW, is priceless! Taub was enjoying the whole scene way too much ;). And I love the way PJ repeatedly uses his pen as an accessory, gesturing around with it, reminds me of HL and his usage of the cane. So many details I missed the first time! Wilson's shirt while he was speed dating, white and pink stripes, seriously? Don't get me wrong, he looked adorable ;), but still, it's almost child-like. I take it that he wants to appear as unthreatening as possible...? And what was up with the little polar bear (?) figurine, that Wilson picked up from House's desk during their conversation, right before the porno revelation. Was that just RSL improvising and playing around with props? I liked that ;). ETA: I know, shallow me, but yay! HL's hair has grown, even if it's just a tiny little bit, he immediately looks twice as good! I already noticed that during Cuddy's episode, because I kept thinking "something's different about House...". He looks more mellow with slightly longer hair, and I prefer that. But if House's hairdo reflects his state of mind, it would mean that I like angsty!House better, and that doesn't seem right...;)

"Can you write a book, so I don't have to talk to you?" That was the funniest line of the episode for me, and was another perspective on the themes of the blogger who feels she can share more with her readers in cyberspace than her husband, and House who thinks he can learn more about his father by reading his book, than trying to have a conversation with him. I also liked the scene with the lady visiting the POTW who was reading the blog in her hopital room instead of talking to her.

I really enjoyed this episode. The parts that stuck out to me the most were: 1. The Wilson porn really cracked me up, and I just had to share this twitter quote from DE. Director (in forest clearing, watching wood nymphs prepare to dance w/abandon): "This wasn't how I imagined my first House episode." 2. Love the speed dating scene too Poor Chase. He should have known better than to bet against House. And poor Wilson could not catch a break either. 3. I can't say the POTW really made that much of an impression on me. I sympathized much more on her husband. 4. I think that finding out that House's bio-dad was a preacher goes a long to way to explain why House has such issues with lies and hypocrisy. Especially if the man was a preacher at the time of the affair with his mom.

We have now had two episodes that gave us significant information about House's biological father--this one and Birthmarks. I'm trying to make the minister-author fit with the Sean Connery-lookalike-uniformed-officer in Birthmarks--who supposedly had the same birthmark as House, etc. Was he a military chaplain? If so, why wasn't he officiating at the funeral? I am even more intrigued by the fact that DE wrote both episodes. I don't Twitter, but if I did, I'd be tempted to ask her how she sees this coming together. Anyone else have thoughts along these lines?

A few thoughts about monday night episode after wathcing it again with my sister. There were so much funny lines, I don't know wich one was my favourite. I loved the one with the pageant, the last one with House and Wilson (about him writing a book) and the condescending comment about Foreman. That was gold. I just wish there were - more speed dating time - more comment about the other doctors on the blog, but well, there is only 42 minutes in one episode. I loved Chase. His scenes with House, with Wilson and even with 13*. His look when Wilson joined him during dinner, his look when House said he is really hot (after he explained the heart problem), his way of saying "Hi" to House (wow... that was cruel  ) and how his brain did work. It was about time they remind us that Chase is pretty clever ("Sometimes, I forget why I hired you!! (season 3)). * funny how I write Cameron first then correct myself  . As for Chase and 13, I hope they are not going on tha road but I found their scenes cute, in a friend way. Not much Cuddy. Sorry, but what a relieve.

I, too, thoroughly enjoyed the episode, even if I didn't really care for the patient case. (Isn't it the second time a patient's condition is triggered by becoming a vegetarian? The jerk, I think?) I love Chase. This is official. He always had connections with House and I am glad they are going on the kind-of-evil-friend pathway which they both seem to enjoy. And Chase is the only person around that House finds hot (and say so) without ulterior motive. I like his fascination for Chase Hair. I love the long-suffering looks RSL can give when he is harassed, either by House or speed date chicks. Taub IS hilarious. God, I even loved 13, which is not fooled by Chase's prettiness. The only thing that didn't fit, strangely for me, was the House-Cuddy bit, coming out of the blue in regard to their recent story. It was funny, but I wondered if it was HL improvisation , because Lisa Edelstein seeemed rather taken off guard, and almost laughing. All in one I can't wait to rewatch it, I certainly missed LOTS of details.

I'm trying to make the minister-author fit with the Sean Connery-lookalike-uniformed-officer in Birthmarks--who supposedly had the same birthmark as House, etc. Was he a military chaplain? If so, why wasn't he officiating at the funeral? Could be that he's a military chaplain. But then they didn't refer to the Sean Connery type as wearing a uniform in "Birthmarks," so he may easily have retired from the military (20 years and out, or he left the service after any tour -- wouldn't be at all strange that a guy who flew in the military during the Vietnam War would reconsider life choices at some time) Or perhaps he was never military to begin with. House never said the suspected biological Dad was military, I don't think. (At least checking the transcript for Birthmarks doesn't seem to state that.) I think fandom -- myself included -- assumed that bio-Dad was military, though canon doesn't state that. As to why he wasn't leading the service, bio-Dad may well live elsewhere and wasn't sure if he'd make it to the funeral or John House may have requested a different minister. (My Dad stipulated not only which minister, but which sermon he wanted at his funeral.)
