I should have had a drinking game around how many times Cuddy was called a bitch tonight. What did the note and the check say at the end? It went by too fast for us to read it.

So, Cuddy struggle for years to have a child she never sees, is dating an asshole who's bad in bed, makes stupid decisions, vets her employees less than John McCain vets running mates, lets her doctors do whatever the fuck they want and pretty much only keeps her job because of dumb luck. Wow. Thanks for that House writers, I didn't think I could have less respect for Cuddy, but I do.

Good episode. This was the Cuddy we all fell in love with in S1. (Or, at least I did.) Loved the yoga and the ball-busting with the insurance company. Cuddy is so tightly wound, she was giving me energy. Every time there was a commercial, I was running around like a nut, getting stuff done. She's no Brenda, but I like Regina. Glad they brought her back. But my favorite with the fist fight in the O.R. heeeee. Who did House make the check out to? I couldn't read it? Lucas is losing more points with me every week. He turned off the phone and took the sitter's phone when the baby was sick? How egocentric can you get?

angelcat2865- 02-08-2010

Ok now I am confused last week Lucas was tripping House and this week he is asking him out on an stakeouts and telling about his love life.

Wow. House just had a feel good episode. That is fucking astounding. And wow. It actually made me feel good.

Wow. Thanks for that House writers, I didn't think I could have less respect for Cuddy, but I do. Wow. Were you watching the same episode I was. I agree that her private life is a disaster but there are hundreds of employees at PPTH. Is she supposed to personally check each one? Even if HR did, if that thief had never been caught or suspected before, they wouldn't have found anything. And she certainly can't crosscheck every purchasing order for the hospital by herself.

Regardless of how Cuddy handled each situation, I thought Lisa E's performance was stellar this evening. I hope she submits this for an Emmy nod. Just like in the Wilson episode, I love how incredibly odd House's cases sound when heard in snippets from the outside. Wish we could have gotten a scene with Cuddy lecturing Chase.

I should have had a drinking game around how many times Cuddy was called a bitch tonight. What did the note and the check say at the end? It went by too fast for us to read it. I said the same thing about a drinking game on LJ. But I included shots every time Cuddy says "I don't have time for this.." and "I'm busy" along with every time she was called a bitch.

I want an explanation about the fight between the surgeons. I get it that the head of the department wants Chase back, but what caused the two of them to fight? Who started it? How did it get resolved? Otherwise it was a better episode than I was expecting given how little interest I had in the premise. I thought maybe the check was from the guy who got his finger repaired, wanting to pay the bill and let go of the lawsuit. Speaking of, Chase really is the jack of all surgeries. He's a microsurgeon and a transplant surgeon too. This knocks his entry into medical school back to the ripe old age of eight.

Poeia - The check was made out to PPTH, but it was from the thumb surgery patient I thought. eta - I rewatched just that bit - the sticky note on it said "Mr. (whatever the thumb guy's name was) dropped this off". And the memo on the check said "thumb surgery".

This was a lot better than I was expecting - the writing was much improved, and LE did a good job. Some things were a bit much, like House getting a massage, but I did enjoy it. However, we're supposed to believe that everyone in the hospital believes she gives House special treatment, and she's never really gotten in trouble for allowing him to do that AC stuff or whatever? I know it's fiction, but if it's known by all the other higher ups that House is that much of an issue and everyone thinks they're sleeping together, I think that would have been much more of an issue for Cuddy than any of the other problems she faced today. Also, it appears she spends no time with Rachel at all - she leaves a sick kid to go have sex with her boyfriend - which is all the more ridiculous because I fail to see why she likes Lucas at all so it wasn't even believable. I know the dilemma of working moms and all that...but I don't think it's possible to have it all in the sense of being a single mom with an extremely high-powered job that doesn't even give you the weekends off or any time to yourself. It seems like Rachel is more of a hassle when you see that it portrayed as it was - Cuddy's job is her life, understandably so, but I don't think there's a lot of room for boyfriends and sick kids in there. It just didn't make sense that she was so desperate to have kids.

I should have had a drinking game around how many times Cuddy was called a bitch tonight. What did the note and the check say at the end? It went by too fast for us to read it. It was for $850, and the note said that Acevedo (I think that was thumb-reattached-against-his-will guy) had dropped it off. And she tore it up. Does this mean she plans to see him in court for the full $16K? And does anyone else think that's awfully excessive? If his insurance pays 85 percent, like mine, that means the surgery cost more than $100K. Someone who is in the field please correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems waaayy too much. And as someone who was shocked to discover how much I owed for *minor* surgery after insurance paid 85 percent, I feel the guy's pain. I was prepared to either dislike or be bored by this episode, but I actually applauded when the insurance company gave her what she wanted.

It just didn't make sense that she was so desperate to have kids. I agree - it would have been a much braver choice for her to choose to be childless. There would be a ton of drama to mine from that and it would make more sense.

radiosweetheart- 02-08-2010

Wow. Were you watching the same episode I was. I agree that her private life is a disaster but there are hundreds of employees at PPTH. Is she supposed to personally check each one? It was 1 day. If that was 1 day in her life, she has no right running a cash register at McDonald's, much less a hospital. Even if it was a particularly unusual day, she still probably makes a lot of decisions without thinking through the consequences. She doesn't have to check each employee-but she should hire people capable of judging character. Or the people she hired should hire people who can spot a psycho. I was offended. It really, to me--mileage, etc--only need the Fonz trapping on his water skis to complete the shark jumping.
