They have money and can afford it.
Doesn't make it right. Lucas is a douche. If someone did that to my house, whether I could afford it or not, I'd press charges.

Totally agree. No matter how much money they make, I would think they would be very angry about having the expensive new apartment violated and thrashed by a ridiculous jerk. And both House and Wilson have shown to be very caring about their possesions, especially the ones that mean something to them, i.e. Ambers pictures and diplomas, House's guitars and books, it makes no sense to me that they weren't raging about the sprinkler attack.
Also, Wilson was clearly not happy about having to spend $1750 to repair the damage to the bathroom alone by the opossum, I can't imagine that he wouldn't be very mad to have to spend much, much, much more than that to repair the damage after the flood, not to mention to the neighbors apartment's too.
Unless there is insurance that would cover that. (Yeah, I was actually wondering about that. )
But I guess that's why the sprinkler "prank" seemed way over the top, even for 'HouseLand'.
Yeah, I know, not much that goes on in House could ever be real, but usually the the crazy, totally way out, totally unrealistic things that happen ended up being amusing or good in their outcome (i.e. SofCG or Birthmarks, etc). Not like these "pranks".

It's Wilson so I'm sure he has insurance - the cautious man that he is. House may not try to get back at Lucas but I'm pretty sure Wilson is gonna do something to get back.
I don't think they're going to press charges because they wouldn't want to hurt Cuddy. And yes, it would hurt Cuddy.

I really, really liked yesterday episode, as it was tied up with a lot of facts that have to be adressed again. For the first time in ages, I plan to watch it again entirely and not only the good bits. Not being a native speaker, I miss a lot the first time I watch.
Only annoying thing was the POTW diagnosis, as paraneoplastic syndrome in melanoma is utterly ridiculous, but it was not the main point.
I really liked the Foreman storyline, and I respect Omar Epps for doing a great job of being an ass, and even the parallel with House in the eulogy/funeral was not an anvil. The brother was really good, too. I am with Wilson on this one : House was being nice.
Taub was hilarious in his small part, Thirteen was barely seen, so bearable, Chase was almost chipper, and is actually the only person in the show looking fondly at House. Oh, and Cuddy still stands way to close to House to be innocent.
The pranks did not bother me, as House is apparently unbreakable, and I appreciate that he is still a badass : his first reaction after the tripping, when he recognised Lucas, was to grab his cane to (apparently) fight, before thinking better of it. And he found the fire alarm fun (I can't say how much I love that wolfish smile)
That said, Lucas creeps me out. French TV is actually airing season 5, so I was able yesterday to see Season 5 Lucas followed by season 6 Lucas : didn'like him, still don't. I wonder where they are going with him : is there a point in assessing that Cuddy has bad taste in men, and only love jerks?
But now I am convinced it won't last, I feel better. I just want little sparks back between House and Cuddy, and all wil be better (hopefully next week) !

Talking about french! I loved when House talked in french :) and with french accent during last episode.
Vicpei..
I thought they were re-airing season 3 ?
I saw Tritter yesterday. It was the episode with the broken heart fireman.
Well, I can't stand season 5, so that's not a big deal.

Oh! I forgot the french part!! I love when Hugh speaks French, I get chills..Almost no trace of English accent...There is this hilarious video somewhere on the internet, where he translates Helen Mirren's speech at some award...In the epi, I think he was mimicking Hercule Poirot, so Belgian it is, technically....
In France, Tuesday has been officially pronounced House Day, we get two season 5 epi followed by two season 3 epi, then I watch the current season 6 after and the morning after I badly need coffee.....

That's why I saw the one with Tritter yesterday!

One more thought : I loved this epi because House was everywhere. He has to be the center of the show. My apologies to Hugh, but he needs to work a lot....

Harmless pranks in House and television in general are a lot different than the ones in real life, so I didn't care. I mean everyone and their mother has tripped House and Amber had set off the fire thingies in the hospital.
I liked that he made them feel guilty in the end. I didn't like that he got all macho and went to defend his girlfriend behind her back like that. Yay, pissing contests!
When I saw the clinic patient in the trailer, I thought that it was because they know how much we missed them. But... yeah... I don't understand why he let it get this far. I thought that when he saw him leaving the hospital it was like a reminder of how "nice" he really is. I don't like that at all.
I loved Chase's face when Wilson went to tell House about the opossum. LOL is Wilson still gonna be all MAH HOUSE, GTFO whenever he feels like it? I hope. I want House's apartment back.

So ... that was a cricket bat that House was holding while waiting for the prankster to show himself at 2 a.m., wasn't it?
to21be- 02-03-2010
Totally secondary, but I find myself irrationally getting annoyed with the constant "Stiletto" references. (This time House is reading the comic.)
Other than that, really liked the episode. Lot's of good stuff. Liked Foreman for a change and my love for Taub knows no bounds. Will have to re-watch.

Well, then she needs to have her feelings hurt. Sorry, her boyfriend is a vindictive ass and what he did was bang out of order. That's an absolutely ridiculous "payback" for outbidding someone on a condo. Not only all the property damage, but the assault (and need I say it again?) opposum bothering adds up to something that A. she needs to know about and B. should be concerned about. That's not rational behavior, IMHO.

ITA, if my boyfriend thought that kind of behavior was acceptable, I would want to know about it. That's just creepy and dangerous behavior. I'm not sure how much she would think he was out of line (because of the trip wire and elevator "pranks") but I do think she should know that he's been acting like that.

Here's my thing with the pranks. House's reality is not our reality. If this were my real world? Damn straight I'd be seeking police intervention, but House's world is not our world. Just as in House's world you get immediate test results compared to the real world in which it takes weeks for results, I accept that things are a little different in House's world.
I take my cues for what should upset me by House's response. The light in House's eyes when the sprinklers went off? That was sheer joy at the being in the fight. He said that "this guy's good" and he meant it. Even Wilson didn't seem overly concerned, except for the flat screen. So while in the real world, the sprinklers would ruin wooden floors and wallboard and appliances ... in House's world, it's an inconvenience. So since House doesn't hold a grudge and isn't mad (he even used it as part of his plan to get the Foremen to join together against him), I'm not mad.
In House's world, the cane, the tripwire and the grab bar pranks each briefly pissed him off, but didn't cause rage or lasting anger. In the real world, you don't mess with a disabled person.
The show has, since day one, had its own sense of reality. I don't expect House to have to exist solely within the real world. It's a TV show. It operates by its own rules (as does House the character and all other characters.) It's entertaining. If I were to get upset over every unbelievable thing that happened, I'd never watch. Instead, I plop myself willingly and willingly suspend my disbelief and go with the flow.
I'm not saying that it's right or wrong to consider House's world this way, just that it's how it works for me.

One of the things I hated about Cuddy's pranks was that he hadn't really done anything to deserve them. When Cameron was temporarily in charge, House did not make her life hell. He tried to manipulate her a bit and that was it. Nevertheless, Cameron decided she wouldn't be able to stand up to him in the future and she stepped down. Cuddy did the tripwire and stuff because she had to return to work but he hadn't sabotaged Cameron to get her back. (The other thing I hated, of course, is that they were physically dangerous.)
But Cuddy had put up with House for years. If she overreacted, at least she had earned the right to overreact.
The "tricks" Lucas pulled were out of all proportion to what he imagined House had done (outbid Cuddy). He abused an animal, he endangered House's life twice and he caused thousands of dollars in property damage. And House has actually never done anything bad to Lucas (hired him? introduced him to Cuddy?) He planned to break up Lucas/Cuddy but never even got the chance to try because Cuddy sent him to her sister's house.
Actually, the best prank played on House was when Wilson decided to eat healthy food.
