to continue with shallow : I love when we get to see House smiling with teeth showing, (to Nora) and Chase's new hair makes him look twenty, top.
And I loved Hugh Laurie's skills, managing to act almost girly with and highly believable as a gay partner.
Why does House seem able to act almost nice only to people he doesn't know?
And I vote for FOX to throw some charity with a Laurie's back rub as first price ; pretty sure they would rise lots of money...
I love that smile, too. And I would totally sell my firstborn for a backrub from Hugh. (Good thing I never had kids!)
I do have kids.... Firstborn is a teenager, don't make me think twice..

Thank you, vicpei! You exactly nailed why I thought House's facial expressions made me think of the silent House/Wilson scenes...in those, House smiles with his teeth showing! Such a small thing, but I couldn't quite place it.
From Chase's expression a few times in this ep, I wondered if he was going to punch out House again.

I think in this epi Chase looks at House part annoyed, part fondly, as you did with your father when you were a teen ager (and the short cut does'nt help with that).
I have this growing feeling that House behave around Chase almost fatherly, well, in his own way. Ans he cares for Chase, obviously. Watching back from the first seasons, I love their kind of relationship more and more. Please don't take Chase away!!

I never have the impression Chase was going to punch out House during this episode. In the contrary, I thought he did take House's comment pretty well. As for his faces, I loved it! :P
I've always loved House-Chase scenes because I alway had the impression House cares about Chase (in his own way like Vicpei said) and Chase love Houses's sense of humor. I also think there is some kind of father/son relationship between the two or at least that they enjoy each other a lot. I always thought House was right in The mistake when he said that Chase loved him :P :P

I've pictured House and Chase's relationship more to be a sibling variant, in which Chase was the annoying tag-along kid that House put up with only grudgingly at first, but has evolved over time as Chase matured to become something like respect and enjoyment. They know each others' foibles and how to best needle each other because of their history and know exactly how far they can push.
At least from my experience in my family, where there is a decent size age gap between the oldest and youngest siblings, the changing relationship of the older brother, especially, upon realizing that younger isn't just a kid anymore, seems to ring true.
The comments in this episode about Chase's hair, the comment about the pillow were definitely in the siblings teasing each other using their past histories variety, whereas Chase's observations about the beta blockers and House's reaction to it are the evolved respect aspect.

I was over at IMDB checking on the character's name for the nurse in the ER when Mickey is brought back in. For the first time, I noticed the recommendations at the bottom of the page. (They're the same for every page of House.)
If you enjoyed this title, our database also recommends:
A Family Thing
Bombay Boys
Mildred Pierce
Harvey
The Messenger
James Earl Jones was in A Family Thing and he played a POTW in House. Other than that I can't think of any connection (cast or thematic) between House and those movies or between the films themselves.

Harvey
Well, really, who hasn't ever mistaken Wilson for a 6-foot, 3 1/2-inch white rabbit?
Namaste- 01-18-2010
Hasn't there been some discussion on these boards -- and probably the IMDB as well -- about Hugh and the movie Harvey? (Like rumors of a remake or HL mentioning it or something?) That would be the link there, if the IMDB boards also discussed that.
At least I assume that those board discussions are used in whatever algorthym they use.
I haven't the foggiest about why the other discussions would come up, though.
Poeia- 01-18-2010
In some interview he was asked if he'd like to do it and he said "of course." But I checked the article links on Harvey's page. Spielberg was going to do a remake but isn't going to anymore. And Hugh's name wasn't mentioned.
Namaste- 01-18-2010
I'm referring to the IMDB forums, not the official articles. If posters there talked about Hugh and Harvey -- especially if they liked both -- than the algorithym would have picked up on the connection for an "if you liked this, then you may like that" mention.

But House would make a great Mildred Pierce, swaggering around in mink saying "I'lldoanythingforthosekidsdoyouunderstandmeanything".
Anyway, I wanted to see that after a few repeat viewings, I take back the POTW male love story thing. I think Eddie had feelings for Mickey, but watching again I saw the guilt on Mickey's side that I had mistaken for love.

I never saw any love there on the POTW's part but I did think the mobster cared a great deal for his friend.
I have been rewatching this epsiode trying to figure out how House showed for Wilson because when GY was aksed if House loved Wilson, the fan was told to watch ep 11. So did House prove his love for Wilson by giving up his quest for Nora or did he show his love for Wilson by trying to convince Nora he and Wilson were in a "relationship"?
Poeia- 08-23-2010
I just rewatched this episode (again.) And re-rewatched the proposal.
Wilson totally pwned House.
