WILSON IS MADE OF TEH WIN. That is all.

Namaste- 11-30-2009

"It wasn't the tennis!" I heart Taub. Also Wilson. Wilson's friend -- the two-faced nasty one, that is, not the guy with the limp -- not so much. Also, I'm experience real estate envy, and we haven't even gotten the full tour.

LOVED IT :P Tucker was a jerk. I hated him by the end. House made up for his suckiness in the last two episodes by completely stepping up to the plate. I thought House might change his mind and be there for Wilson when even though he said he wouldn't, but sometimes they like to really drive home how cruel House can be, so I didn't want to get my hopes up. I'm so glad he not only showed up but stayed with him afterward. I'm also so proud of Wilson for taking the loft right out from under Cuddy. She was better this episode (though probably because she was barely there and did not interact with House or PI) but it was still nice. Loved the way House's team kept going by with random patients and we had no idea what was going on. It kind of changes things when you look at it from an outside perspective. "It's not tennis!!!" had me on the floor. Definately a nice episode to start a break on.

I thought the episode worked way better than the 13 centered dramuh of the too many episodes heavily featuring her or the Boreteen centered vapidity of Epic Fail. It shows that a supporting character can carry an episode when the character is well-written and well-acted. I enjoyed the glimpses of the insanity of House's cases from the outside perspective. I also thought it interesting that Chase is still the go-to guy for surgery. I love Jesse Spencer's scene-stealing charm. The supporting character focus is not a route I'd want to see the show take every week, but I thought it worked just fine for the episode to center on Wilson. Now it's just too bad that the break between episodes is so long.

I loved this episode, while at the same time feeling like it was off-center. (Yes, I know that was deliberate on the writers' part!) The House team parts were hilarious, as extra_cat pointed out, they look absolutely insane from the outside. Somehow Omar Epps was really funny, and I can't even remember what he did! And Taub...bringing the snark big-time! The bond between House and Wilson is amazing, and so beautifully depicted. House being there every minute during Wilson's recovery, the way Cuddy was there for House when he was in a coma. I also enjoyed the peek into Wilson's world, since it DOES seem like he's the only oncologist in PPTH most of the time! His assistant was excellent (between her and the male nurse I suspect new supporting characters around the edges of the show). It was strange to have House himself relegated to the "best friend" status, but they really pulled it off. As they say, this episode was made of win.

Poeia- 11-30-2009

No matter what they've all been saying in interviews, etc. I hope that wasn't a typical day in Wilson's life. RSL nailed every single moment. And I shall cherish "Actually, it's James." I hope he's not going to go celebrate with the self-important jerk again next year. The guy doesn't deserve it. Loved when he threw out House's test tube shots. He has a tendency to hold things in then explode at odd times. I guess defrosted food was the final straw for him. House, for all the flak he gives Wilson, coming running in, soaking wet, to tell them he found a liver was the perfect "House shows he cares in different ways than most people do." (As was convincing the sister to donate it. And, despite what he said, making sure Wilson saw him before the anesthesia took hold and making Wilson laugh during recovery.) Also, I'm experience real estate envy, and we haven't even gotten the full tour. Looking at real estate I can't afford is how I've been coping with some stuff. So we can be green-eyed together. Wilson's got a new place with House (and a bigger refrigerator), Bonnie got a commission and Cuddy got punished for making House unhappy. Win-Win-Win.

Poeia, I wondered if House got a certain sadistic pleasure in making Wilson laugh after he'd had surgery. Punishing Wilson for having another friend. It couldn't have been a typical day in Wilson's life--he had no time for House!

I enjoyed this episode a lot. More than I thought I would. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Wilson, but I watch House for House. I thought maybe I'd be bored that he wasn't in it so much. However I was pleasantly surprised. It amused me to see House and his team from a different view point. Almost made me love House even more. I was laughing out loud a couple times. Taub for the win as usual. I wasn't surprised House showed up for the surgery, but was still relieved to see him there. Tucker was a jerk. Right when he grabbed his ex-wife's hand I was disappointed in him. I'm with Wilson, disappointed, not sure if I'd regret it. But not sure I'd have wanted him to die. I missed the end. My Fox feed kept cutting out so it was all choppy dialogue. I could sort of make out what they were saying, but not really, so I was very frustrated. Still am.

In a way, this episode was probably a glimpse into the show that Hugh thought he was signing up for: Wilson playing the charming lead with House as the snarky best friend who backs him up in the end. Still prefer House, MD, but I loved Wilson, MD. I cannot wait for Cuddy to find out about who's the other bidder on her place. It will be ON.

wintertide- 11-30-2009

The best episode ever. That's all I can even say about it now. Too awesome for words.

ggo85- 11-30-2009

I loved the opening song from House. Can't remember the title, but something about liking his body. In retrospect, I think it would have been better if we'd been introduced to Tucker earlier and/or if he'd been more likable from the start. That would have made it easier to understand why Wilson was so committed to him vs. any other patient. There were so many great moments, including House's comment that, if something happened to Wilson, he'd have "no one." Overall, I loved the ep. And the thought that H & W will be living together for the foreseeable future . . . PRICELESS!

In a way, this episode was probably a glimpse into the show that Hugh thought he was signing up for: Wilson playing the charming lead with House as the snarky best friend who backs him up in the end. Still prefer House, MD, but I loved Wilson, MD. I had that thought, too. I cannot wait for Cuddy to find out about who's the other bidder on her place. It will be ON. I didn't get why Cuddy would be buying a loft now, of all times, when she has a toddler. She has a nice house with a yard, and plenty of room for 3 people from the looks of it. It seems more common to move out of the city when you have kids, rather than to move back in. But they had to set up a conflict, I guess.

vitawash99- 11-30-2009

I'm going to be the weirdo here and admit that I was bored stupid during most of this episode. And that's not just the excessive amounts of dextromethorphan I've been drinking talking. I just...didn't care about the Wilson as Marcus Welby show, no matter how good RSL is (and he is very good). Not that it didn't have its high points - Taub yelling "It's not tennis!" as the team rolled by, Wilson's delighted smirk at scooping the apartment from Cuddy, House's admission of real fear that Wilson would leave him alone - and coming through anyway. And indeed, that the selfish jerk turned out to be exactly that. I mean, it wasn't like the comatose feeling I got during Dying Changes Everything, but I seriously looked at the clock halfway through and couldn't figure out how it was only 8:30, because I felt like I had been watching the episode forever. Although maybe it was just that nearly everything I did like was sort of crammed into that last 20 minutes of show.

LightMyCandle- 11-30-2009

House, for all the flak he gives Wilson, coming running in, soaking wet, to tell them he found a liver was the perfect "House shows he cares in different ways than most people do." (As was convincing the sister to donate it. And, despite what he said, making sure Wilson saw him before the anesthesia took hold and making Wilson laugh during recovery.) Yes, he was a great friend tonight. I was very pleased with their interactions. In addition to the "It wasn't tennis" line I also thought House interrogating the guy in the first place "if you'd have told us you were a tennis pro" was more hilarious than I should have found it. It just seemed like such a ridiculous thing to say.
