Pearlmutter was really registered. Apparently House knows who he is. He said Pearlmutter wouldn't get in trouble because he could easily prove he wasn't the guy who gave the speech -- he was drunk in the hotel bar during the entire conference.

A minor thing, but in a way not really - wasn't this the first time House said Rachel's name?

I noticed that, too. His effort at being nice?

I think it was more than being nice, his saying Rachel, I think he was accepting her as part of Cuddy's life in a way he earlier avoided by not going to her naming ceremony. Nice catch, Daff!

Start with the good...House being kind and sweet is big love. Not to mention dressup House ;) Pantless Wilson will always be welcome.
POTW was ok, Chameron are starting to bore me big style. Nice to see TPTB bend there own history to make House's 'confession' work & i loathed the fact Cuddy told Lucas about 'teh sex'. House looked heartbroken while Lucas rambled on like an idiot.

So, Egan is saying that House was first expelled from Michigan med school. Then he went to Hopkins and was expelled from there? What did he do after Hopkins? How many med schools was he expelled from? How in the world did he manage to finish med school?
I agree that House calling Rachel by her name was sweet.
I loved that Cuddy remembered everything about her first meeting with House.
It will be interesting to see what their interaction will be like following this conference weekend.

I thought he said he had an airtight alibi as he was in Toronto all weekend. I may have misheard.

DE also said that they're "drawing a curtain" on anything post-Johns Hopkins ... "for now." And that it's her personal canon that House spent some time bumming around the world before he started college, which I can believe as well. Maybe with the Basques. That part might have been part of her joke.
And I thought House said Pearlmutter was in Toronto, not drunk at the bar, though obviously I could be wrong. (If he was in Toronto, then I can see House registering under someone else's name from the start.)
I'll say that the episode felt a little too packed. One of the plots could have been sidelined (as it is, the patient's case was nearly sidelined), and it felt a little disjointed. HOWEVER ... my signal kept breaking up for the first half of the episode, so I missed a minute here, 30 seconds there, another minute there ... so my entire viewing was disjointed.

I also thought House said Pearmutter was spending the weekend in Toronto, so the guy had an airtight alibi.
However, Michigan was his first med school, but we don't know where he went undergrad, right?

When Wilson signed in at the conference registration table, House went up behind him and picked up the only badge left that was a man's name. (I froze the TiFaux there to look. Yes, I'm weird.)
House must have researched later where Dr. Pearlmutter was. Or he lied to Wilson about Pearlmutter having an alibi. :)
I agree with wintertide that my favorite part was House sincerely complimenting Wilson on his dedication and then admitting that he takes advantage of Wilson. Then Wilson thanking him and telling House he's a good friend. I personally would have added "when you make the effort" but I'm glad Wilson didn't!
It was interesting to see Wilson holding and touching his patient. It makes it even more obvious how Wilson doesn't touch House.

I must have misheard. I like Toronto so it can't be that I subconsciously thought being there was the same as a 3-day bender.
In One Day, One Room he told the POTW that he went to Hopkins. As it would make less sense than most of his personal history to randomly name the 2nd of his 3+ medical schools, I'm assuming it's where he got his undergraduate degree.

I'm not sure I was supposed to, but I LOL'd when Cameron said she believed Chase wasn't having an affair and he got all serious on her and she said, "You are!" For some reason that just cracked me up.
I laughed at that one, too. I also cracked up when she told Foreman that Chase went to the gym 5 times that week, so she followed him.
Foreman: Where'd he go?
Cameron: To the gym... that time.
C'mon Cam! We've all seen shirtless Chase. Is there any reason to doubt that he spends time at the gym? :P

I had assumed that House had researched Pearlmutter before leaving for the conference, so he knew that the man's nametag would be available.
Wilson was interesting this week. In the early part of the episode, he was doing everything that I hate about the character—lecturing, badgering, being condescending, behaving as if his friendship with House is a burden to be endured. But as the episode continued, more layers got revealed and I was once again loving him by the end. Especially liked the scene where he got drugged (and House was so tender in laying his head on the table—totally got me), both as it was happening and when he woke up groggy later on. Still not boring.
Gotta say that I'm kind of surprised by everyone's reaction to Lucas. Yes, I cringed when he blathered on about House's mental issues and his imaginary sex with Cuddy, but I find the character essentially sweet, and I can see why new mom Cuddy would feel safe and secure around him, and feel comfortable leaving Rachel with him. He's adorable, and she knows he's been interested in her for a long time AND he's been willing to say it comfortably, which House has had difficulty with.
I can also understand, sort of, why Cuddy would be uncomfortable having House find out about their relationship. What I don't get is why she didn't confide in Wilson (other than the fact that it would have messed up the plot of this farce comedy). Or why Wilson, who encouraged House so strongly in what turned out to be his delusion about Cuddy, would continue to encourage him along the same lines now, without perhaps checking in with Cuddy first to see if she's interested.
The part I found offensive is that Cuddy was so uncomfortable that she essentially asked the man in her life to let her imprison him in a hotel room for fear of House finding out, and then she had no trouble leaving him behind to go off to a dance and flirt with House. Not a very romantic weekend, if you ask me. If you're too ashamed to be seen publicly at the conference with the man you're seeing, then skip the damn dance and go off quietly to a nice restaurant. Maybe House would be better for her, because he certainly would not allow her to treat him that way.
Given all of that, I thought House reacted in a mature, adult fashion. He offered to babysit, which was sweet. Then, when he discovered Lucas in Cuddy's room and realized they were in a relationship, he backed out pretty gracefully. And he was mature enough to be willing to go to lunch with them and Wilson later on. Pretty good for him, I think.

I had high hopes for this episode. I love House/Wilson road trips, and considering that this was co-written by Doris Egan, who has written some great road trip episodes ("Failure to Communicate" with Stacy/House, "Son of Coma Guy," and "Birthmarks"), I had high expectations. As far as the House/Wilson interaction goes, Doris lived up to, and exceeded, those expectations. I loved that House was protecting Wilson, and that Wilson acknowledged that House was being a good friend. I loved that House didn't mock Wilson for caring too much about his patient. (I wonder if this more mature version of House would still mock Cameron's caring for a patient.) I appreciated Wilson reminding House that he did what House would have done when he made the decision to "do what I think is right and not worry about the consequences." This is great progress on Wilson's part. I thought it was funny that Wilson was saying something to House about "don't scheme..." when he suddenly realized that House had drugged him.
Other things I liked/loved:
1. Beautiful use of the scenery for background shots.
2. Foreman's concern for Chase and Cameron. I love Foreman when he's with Chase and Cameron, and dislike the man he becomes when he's around Taub and Thirteen. I love to see him playing the big brotherly role, and I felt that this episode truly showed them working well as a team. Foreman wasn't ordering C&C around as he did in earlier episodes; that always rang false to me. Both Chase and Cameron confided in Foreman. Sweet.
3. A relatively young Chase and Cameron finding a generation gap in talking with Jordan and her friend. I think that Cameron not understanding the word "tweet," (which is pretty unbelievable in this day and age) and trying to relate with her rather lame "cool" at the end of that scene suggests that she is rather socially awkward and a little old for her actual age. Or, this could be another excuse by the writers to show us how hip, cool, and street-wise Thirteen is by contrasting her with a more serious Cameron.
4. Speaking of Thirteen, I probably should have put "Absence of Thirteen" as my #1 positive comment. I didn't miss her or Taub for one second.
5. Cuddy's recognition that she can't count on House. From not coming to Rachel's party to trying to sabotage her hospital inspections, House can not be counted on. With a child to consider, she is right to take this into consideration.
6. Cuddy's Flashdance look was perfect for Lisa Edelstein. She looked great.
7. Cameron and Chase's heart-wrenching scene at the end. Cameron looked apprehensive, but determined to stick by Chase, no matter what she heard. The "Oh God, you are..." was well done and funny. I thought both of them acted this out very well. Yes, Cameron did pull back from Chase AND she withdrew her hand as well, but I can't blame her because Chase delivered the news so bluntly. "I killed him" must have been very shocking for her to hear; he didn't lead her gently up to his decision.
8. Chase taking a page out of House's book by fearlessly eating the possibly-tainted oysters. It reminded me of the tomato sauce in "Poison."
Things I didn't like/hated:
1. ANOTHER gratuitous Cuddy boob and ass display. I'm sick of those juvenile moments, and cannot take her seriously with her breasts hanging out like that. And did she really have to bend over in front of him like that?
2. The House/Cuddy dance. As someone on another forum put it, "I feel as if the writers are pushing Huddy at the expense of House." That was not House on the dance floor with Cuddy; it was Bizarro House who dressed up like that and had a romantic conversation with Cuddy. WTH? I cringed through that entire scene.
3. More rewriting of the House/Cuddy time line and med school association. They were in med school together? It doesn't seem possible.
4. Cuddy telling Lucas all the details about House's hallucination. Ouch! You could see the hurt on House's face, and it was obvious that Cuddy was hurting for him at that point. She has lovely, expressive eyes.

They never said they were in med school together. Cuddy said she was in her first days at college, House mocked her class choices as being too difficult (like taking an endocrinology course that med students would be taking -- and considering that endocrinology became her specialty, I'd guess she knew what she was doing).
