5.24 - Both Sides Now
House and the team are intrigued by Scott (guest star Ashton Holmes), a man whose left brain and right brain operate independently, leaving him with two distinct personalities and no control over some of his actions. As the two sides of Scott’s brain struggle for dominance, his warring personalities make it increasingly difficult for the team to figure out what is causing the unique problem. The team is forced to use some unusual methods to get him to cooperate with their necessary testing. Meanwhile, when House refuses to make an appearance in the clinic, Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) takes an unconventional approach to force House to make up the time with a particular patient (guest star Carl Reiner).

Oh, this episode hurt so good. I love the way they revealed it. And only if Wilson had been his usual nosy self, it would have been figured out sooner. Also, I kind of love it when I guess things correctly, like the real reason Cameron wanted the sperm, and how the episode was going to end (more or less).

This episode managed to depress me beyond what I thought was humanly possible. With that said, great episode.

About two-thirds of the way through, I came to the decision that it was nice that they were ending the season with a light-hearted episode. Everything doesn't have to be a cliffhanger. Now I'm crying so hard I can barely breathe.

Chippers so TOTALLY called it! She said the parting shot would be of House going to the facility while Chase & Cameron got married. Kudos, Chip! I had a feeling he had started hallucinating right after he said that comment about the bastard child. Wow. Need to process, rewatch. Powerful episode. And let me say, I ship Huddy and I am most definitely not disappointed. Not with performances like these. Wow. ETA: and yes, I'm crying too. Such a sap.

OMG i'm seriously crying right now......Oh House

I can't even comment on the episode yet, but I have to vent my hate for the Fox affiliate for cutting from the last shot and IMMEDIATELY playing a "Glee" promo over the end credits. DEEP HATE.

And so we say goodbye to Season 5. Wah! House's face at the end. :-( He and Wilson both looked destroyed. And before I fall into an abyss of angst.... On a more shallow note: I have never wanted a robe to fall open more than in that first scene. Lines: "Isn't that a bit like closing the barn door..." The sperm jokes Wilson as relationship counselor for a brain - brilliant That was a great scene between Cameron & Chase in the locker room. Both of them finally realizing what the real issue was. And the wedding was lovely. ETA: I can't even comment on the episode yet, but I have to vent my hate for the Fox affiliate for cutting from the last shot and IMMEDIATELY playing a "Glee" promo over the end credits. DEEP HATE. As excited as I am for Glee, I had the same reaction! It was a bit of a mood killer.

I was slightly spoiled for this episode, and by half way through I had pretty well figured out what was coming, but it did not lessen the emotional impact. God. House just made me cry. It's never made me cry before. I'm not sure if any TV show has made me cry before.

Ho.ly. shit. So much great stuff in this ep. Then last 15 min were very cool to watch. What's real and whats not. We were really taken for a ride again. Loved all the interaction between H and W. So I'm not clear on what all is real. I guess the sex wasn't.

Man that was a powerful ending. It really made me cry. It also hit close to home having had to be under psychiatric care a few years ago. DE rocks! :(

That episode killed me. Heart breaking, beautiful.

I want to express my sincere apologies for doubting St. Doris. I could not have been more wrong. I just...God, I don't even know what to say right now. Excellent job.

radiosweetheart- 05-11-2009

Nothing says friendship like driving someone to the loony bin. Poor House, he looked so vulnerable. Don't get me started on Wilson--seeing 2 people he's been closest to in his life lose grasp on reality...so painful. Damn. Not much to say, really. I'm a little shaky. The wedding was lovely, tho. Very sweet.

Gripping and intense episode. Brilliantly written by DE and brilliantly acted by HL, RSL and LE. Love that they used "As Tears Go by" by the Rolling Stones at the end.
