My nitpick, unless it was completely intentional for the symbolic purposes, but didn't they realize how totally different the weather was in LA and NJ in early April. I am accepting it as intentional symbolism, cause otherwise it makes no sense, but it was jarring that it was so summerlike for the wedding, while the trees were bare and House and Wilson had coats on Yeah, I was wondering why the weather was so different in the two scenes. I thought maybe they had taken place on different days but then why wouldn't Wilson be at the wedding? No way he wasn't invited (but, that probably would have killed the mood, seeing him in both scenes). Either that or it was quite a drive to get House to wherever that place is. Also, as great as it was to see Chase clean shaven, I thought his tux was made him look kind of goofy.

It makes for an interesting Season 6, with House matching wits with the docs at the psych hospital. I don't think House is going to be going in kicking ass and taking names -- or matching wits. The House we saw at the end is in shock at where he's at. He's broken down. He's uncertain. He's vulnerable and at a loss. While I expect the sarcasm will still be there, I doubt whether it's going to be a big "matching wits" game going on. This is going to be a very different House than we saw when he was faking rehab in the Tritter arc.

I just re-watched about half the episode in select pieces this morning, and I feel a little differently about the last few scenes now. I said before it broke my heart, but I was wrong. I'm usually House-like in my outlook on the show (and other shows), that while they can effect us and make us feel and think about things, it's always in the back of my mind that it's not real: these actors are not their characters, none of this really happened, even if I don't like what took place it still didn't happen in reality. While I still feel luke-warm toward the rest of the episode, I think I joined House in his hallucinating from the point where he told Cuddy "I quit" until I finally dried my eyes because so help me, and I don't care if it makes me a loon too, I found myself at the end of the episode agitated, angry, hurting, and in tears and wanting nothing more than to hold House as tight as I could and not let go until I could heal him. That, right there, is some damn fine acting. Woah.

Or will they do a "Summer of Ketamine"/'Two-month Bereavement Leave" and skip all that, showing him returning to Princeton in Episode 1?

I was expecting a shout-out here to the fact that they showed a gay male couple on the show, for the first time I think. I meant to say something about that last night but forgot. Finally, a nice well to do gay male couple with a kid (I'm assuming Leo was their kid). Do we think they'll show him at the psychiatric hospital? Or will they do a "Summer of Ketamine"/'Two-month Bereavement Leave" and skip all that, showing him returning to Princeton in Episode 1? Oh we'd better. They can't go there and not let us see the results. Well, not for the third time! ;-)

So much word. Them resolving their differences made me like them together. As for Chase, maybe he found seven somebodies before Cameron :D Or maybe House was super clairvoyant and was counting Cameron along with all that extra sperm she was hauling around as the 8 somebodies. :-) More thoughts on this episode later except to say that I almost wish House were not a network show with 24 episodes because this season would have been far better served with the compact timeline cable shows adhere to, giving them a tight, seamless appeal and halting then from veering off down highway 13.

I don't know. I'd like to see some of the process, even if it's collapsed, because I think they could easily show his team attempting to work without him and contrast that with his own struggles. But I think even if we skip over the summer to House's return, it'd be a very different vibe. This wouldn't be a return after an absence due to a shooting, but rather a return in which House's ability to trust his intuition and take intuitive leaps will be more easily questioned, both by himself and his team. House has always gotten away with doing crazy stuff, but will he have the same leeway now? Would he even want it?

Do we think they'll show him at the psychiatric hospital? Or will they do a "Summer of Ketamine"/'Two-month Bereavement Leave" and skip all that, showing him returning to Princeton in Episode 1? I expect anywhere from 2 to 4, maybe 5, episodes with House in the looney bin. I don't see how they could drag it out much longer than that. Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance And I also predict we will hear Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" at some point. Unless I just screwed the pooch... "Nothins seen Real's a dreeeeeeeeeeeaammmm..."

He doesn't have a job to go back to. I think we'll see him in the psychiatric hospital when S6 opens. I'm wondering how he's paying for it and what he's being treated for. It wasn't clear.

I'm wondering how he's paying for it and what he's being treated for. It wasn't clear. One, it takes the whole board to fire House, not just Cuddy. If House wasn't hallucinating, Cuddy probably would have start proceedings for the board to vote him out. Two, since she knows that he's hallucinating, I doubt she's as angry at him as she was before. Three, the man has insurance. And he's a department head at a major hospital. He can pay for it. Four, how interesting is it that the Puzzled has now become the Puzzle?

Namaste- 05-12-2009

By the way, interesting that while HL was spotted heading to NJ for filming the end scenes, RSL apparently got away scot free. And new photos, including House and Wilson at the hospital and the wedding are up now.

LightMyCandle- 05-12-2009

interesting that while HL was spotted heading to NJ for filming the end scenes, RSL apparently got away scot free. RSL's an elusive little devil. I don't think Cuddy would go through with firing House after finding out the truth. It's not his fault he's lost his mind.

When did House switch to Oxycodone ? :S And since he is on it, why are Hallucinations even strange? Hallucinating while on Oxycodone is pretty common. So I guess ... summer rehab and back to normal in Autumn

I almost wish House were not a network show with 24 episodes because this season would have been far better served with the compact timeline cable shows adhere to, giving them a tight, seamless appeal and halting then from veering off down highway 13. bailey, I have wished the same thing on many occasions, "Here Kitty", for example, and always when considering the particulars of character development or the overview of a season. With so much material being created by so many writers some disjunction is inevitable. 14 episodes per year would sharpen the story and allow a more humane working schedule for HL and the producers. The work is still exceptional.
