I have issues too. I've often wondered if House wears cologne (I would assume Hugh does), and if so, what it is and if Hugh and House wear the same cologne.
The larger part of me thinks House wouldn't wear it though. But if he did, it would be something amazingly expensive.

Great episode. Funny and interesting with excellent insight into the characters.
Taub's scenes were really heartfelt-loved the puppet show joke. Also loved how well Kutner took Taub taking credit for the diagnosis. Mostly, I just love Kutner. I am amused that even people who are 'locked in' find Foreman boring.
Mos Def was perfect for this role. His internal monologue answered a lot of questions. Best line: "You two are friends?" Other best line: "You should tell this story to someone who can walk away."
Not sure what to think about the House/Wilson this episode. House needs to try harder. Wilson needs to maybe ease up on the trying a bit.
Overall-I'd like to see this one again.

I can't see House wearing cologne. The guy goes a week without brushing his hair and doesn't shave. Or change the dressing on his scraped arm.
I thought this episode was great. It's always interesting to see things from someone else's perspective. I loved what we learned about Taub, that the job scares him but he still wants it. I continue to love Kutner.
Well, we can scratch motorcycle accident off the list of ways to hurt House.
House is locked in, while Wilson is moving on from Amber.
Help me out, how does someone's liver COMPLETELY fail without noticing it? And didn't the doctor at the beginning say that the patient had an infection?

Also, who knew Hugh Laurie could even look hot in a hoodie?
*raises hand
Also, I might add that he was wearing the t-shirt that he wore in House's Head and Meaning. Seems to be House's "very special episode" shirt.
Jeez, how do you know these things? LOL...really corny line coming up: you make me want to be a better fangirl.
Okay, well if the merchandising people at Fox knew what they were doing, they'd sell those PPTH hoodies. They'd make a bundle after this episode alone.
For the record, that's the only shirt I've ever paid attention to, higher power of choice knows why. :)
And yes, Fox totally should. And spray some of Hugh's cologne on each one. No, I don't have issues!
Well, im not good at remembering which tee he wore in which episode either, but if you're like me, the reason you're remembering it is cause it was the tee he was wearing in the scene in HH when he stripped it off to get into the sensory deprivation tank. And speaking strictly for myself, um, I've watched that scene a time or two
Also regarding the PPTH hoodies, there was a website about 3 years ago that had them and other things with the PPTH logo, but Fox made them quit selling due to copyright. The logo was very accurate looking.

Also, WTH, this episode was written by Friend, Lerner and Foster. No Shore? I may be mistaken, though (My 20 pound cat jumped into my lap around the time the writing credits were airing and I was dealing with him).
David Shore rarely takes a writing credit unless he writes all of an episode or a substantial portion of it. He's in charge of the overall shape of the season and he gives the scripts a final polish to ensure that the characters remain consistent (although he's not terribly interested in that part of the job) but he doesn't get a writing credit on each episode for that.

Help me out, how does someone's liver COMPLETELY fail without noticing it? And didn't the doctor at the beginning say that the patient had an infection?
IDK, but it was House who said it could have been a simple infection.
Changing gears:
Okay, so why did House crash? And if he only scraped his elbow, why was he in there overnight, complete with gown?

Mos Def was awesome. Excellent performance, stellar.
The show has always been wonky on distances (Baltimore is how far from Princeton?), and it holds true again. Middletown, NY is actually two hours from Princeton, and it's over an hour from downtown New York City, which is supposedly where Mercy Hospital is. Long commute for Wilson's new girlfriend (and it's only been 2-3 weeks since Wilson saw his brother -- to have gone out with her a "couple of times" by now, did he ask the woman out the first night he was there?)
Wilson's still paying alimony to the wife he divorced right after med school. Ouch.
Wilson's facial expressions in the cafeteria scene were very weird. They didn't quite match up to what was happening, and at one point I thought he was about to cry. Weird.
I liked Cameron's scene so much. Competent people are awesome.

There was another doctor at the beginning? Sorry, too lost in Hugh's eyes to notice...
I thought that too, actually, especially since they were talking about organ harvest and I was all "do you really want to that if he has that bad of an infection?" They said it was a virus, but that's still an infection (viral infection). Granted, that was after they knew about the whole locked in thing and still thought he was braindead, but what a rude awakening - or not - for the transplant recipient if they had been right and it was a virus.
I also wanted to know more about the bike crash, which kind of leads me to believe there's more going on here than just that... I was also surprised that NO ONE pried as to the crash itself, just where House was.

One more thing: anyone think House is wearing his glasses more than he used to?

Very much so, but I refuse to speculate on what that might mean, other than Hugh finally realizing what power he holds over women when he dons the magic spectacles.

I really enjoyed this ep. Mos Def was brilliant, loved all the close ups of HL's baby blues, and loved the Cameron scene.
I don't see House as a cologne wearer; he didn't even use any in the ep where his shower was messed up.
The ending was sad with House "locked in". It's a shame that we won't be able to see House on the couch or that he won't going. And I love the specs! They work for him. And I also noticed the clothes he crashed in wer the same clothes from "House's Head." Weird.
TravelinCarrie, I think House stayed overnight at the hospital because they wanted to make sure he hadn't sustained any serious head trauma. He had a mark on his face, too.

Excellent ep. Time just passed by, and I really got into the story.
I also loved Lee's complete disinterest in Foreman's story. :D
I love how the writers are really stepping up their game the second half of this season.

Just finished watching the episode and here are my random thoughts:
The medicine was very good and held my interest. They used a sort of Cold Case format to take us through the diagnostic process which I really enjoyed. House and Wilson are still circling each other, meaning there's still a wall of hurt, anger, and resentment.
I loved the solution and the fact POTW did not have a miraculous and complete recovery at the end.

Very good episode, nice way to shake up the formula with one simple change, i.e., the POV. Mos Def was great. He really kept it interesting. I even teared up a few times, like when the kids came to see him. Yet he also had some great funny lines. Everyone had a good scene; I too liked the one with House and Cameron.
I felt uncomfortable with the Taub part of the story, as House is being so harsh and Taub seems so anxious to keep the job. I didn't like Taub coming up with a different reason why he wants to stay. Last episode, I got that he was missing his old job that he loved and he was financially strapped working as a fellow for House. To me, those reasons ring truer than tonight's "I find what we do so scary that I had to overcome it to be worth anything." Every so often, the writers throw in a line like that (Wilson in Birthmarks was another) where the sentiment is just a little too clever-clever, a little too convoluted, and it takes me out of the moment. At all events, it seems like Kutner is shaping up as the best on the new team. He comes up with the most good ideas.
Wilson doing that to House at the end was just bone-headed-does he never learn? But House was going to quit therapy anyway. I was thinking he'd been ordered to see a psychiatrist as a condition of some new medicine, but they didn't go that way. Those of you who knew House was in therapy, what tipped you off? I didn't see that coming.
One quibble, but it's not the fault of the show: Because of the week off, it took me a minute to remember where we left off with Taub, and I was surprised at House's initial comments. Didn't he tell Taub to bring donuts in the last ep (signifying he was still on the team)?

- it was a creative thing showing how locked in to himself House is.
Okay, that's what I thought. I thought it was too obvious though and I was missing the deeper meaning!
So I just watched this uninterrupted and I don't think it was a creative thing. The look of terror on his face leads me to believe it was something else.
What a great episode.
