Nope, that was jumping the shark - literally. Not quite 'the Fonze' riding his motorbike over a real shark, but a very break the fourth wall joke. The writers seem to be going all Boston Legal on us.
It was funny though.
Cmon ... the Fonz didn't ride a bike, he skijumped over a shark. His chicken legs were the funniest thing in the scene :)
Except for that here, they stopped short of jumping that rather beautifully placed shark, thanks to Cuddy! Whew!
(Agree on his legs, but didn't he wear his leather jacket while skijumping said shark? ha!)
Since Arrested Development already did the best homage to shark jumping--(Henry Winkler literally jumped over a shark)--I felt like House doing it was kind of...well....lame. (Although I guess they do share "Kitty" in common.) Particularly lame is having Cuddy rescue House from jumping the shark since arguably much of the unwatchable House/Cuddy tango is what has House revving up on his waterskis to begin with.

Cuddy caught the car after it had jumped the bedpan containing the shark, so he definitely caught it.
(Still liked Arrested Development's take on jumping the shark, in which Henry Winkler, as the Bluth's attorney, literally jumped over a dead shark on a boat dock.)

Agreed, I groaned at that. Like she's going to stop the shark jumping, she's a big part of the problem, IMHO. Ugh.

*is incredibly slow* Whoa  . I remember that scene but I never realized until just now that that's what they were doing.
I just thought I'd randomly point out that I got a kick out of seeing Wilson doing something vaguely oncologist-y. It's been a while since we've seen him do doctor stuff (not counting paperwork), let alone "boy wonder" oncology stuff. It was kinda nice :)
Anyone else think Kutner's retaliation at the end of the episode was too over the top?
Loved the H/W elevator scene and therapy cat.
Could've done with less Taub and more Wilson, but I'll take Taub over more 14 any day.
I thought so spider?I thought so spider?
______________
California health insurance agent Good thing Kutner's around to see this: They're making a movie about
Oscar the death cat (the beast who obviously inspired this episde).
Dude. Seriously? What role will Robin Williams play? (No, he's not cast, but y'know it's right up his alley.)
