What on earth was that? I ship both H/W and H/Cu (I don't know how), but I don't expect H/W to happen so I'm perfectly ok with House and Cuddy hooking up. But that was done so poorly! Cuddy's character was unrecognizable until her last 2 scenes - I mean, it was like bad fanfic, I can't believe those scenes were allowed to be shot! The dialogue was weird, LE seemed off, and it was just so childish and "Friends"-like....not at all what I expect from House. Their interactions made zero sense and were very corny. LE did a much better acting job in the desk scene and the final scene - those made sense. But the whole mixing those chemicals - "oops!" was like a sitcom, and completely unbelievable for her character, who is supposed to be a mature adult. Also, how did Taub and Kutner not notice that woman was breathing? As doctors, I think they'd be more perceptive. I didn't mind Fourteen though, although the flashbacks were a bit much.

It was just written so awkwardly and Cuddy seemed so OOC and she turned that way on a dime. It was so bizarre.

I think House contacted Mrs. Cuddy to get the desk. Wilson wouldn't have know the desk existed and that's the sort of big idea that House does well. What he doesn't do well is the little stuff -- like not flirting with a hooker in a glass-walled office right after making the big gesture. Watching House and Cuddy do this intricate dance around each other when, clearly, neither one knows the steps, is getting interesting. (And when she was sitting on the floor and hopped up wearing that pencil skirt and stilettos -- I have to start taking Yoga.) I wasn't particularly interested in the POTW's case. I liked the b-plot with the online patient/hooker. Thirteen's story was pretty good tonight (and I think this was the best acting we've had from OW so far) but I'm really tired of watching Thirteen, MD. My biggest complaint this year has been the multitude of commercials. This was the first episode where I felt like they got the pace right. The breaks seemed to come naturally to the story. I still prefer the 4-act structure, but this wasn't horrible.

Yes, exactly. It was a huge WTF moment for me. It was just written so awkwardly and Cuddy seemed so OOC and she turned that way on a dime. It was so bizarre. I'll agree that it was weird. I think she was mentally trying to turn House into her fairy tale dream come true romance, to justify her feelings for him, and he wasn't having any of it. Although the hooker was obviously a way to work out his tension about Cuddy without actually having to be with Cuddy.

Cuddy was making more out of the whole situation IMO. She was baiting him, what did she expect him to do? Be all romantic? No, he is gonna be an ass, and grab her tit. Totally House. She forgets who she is dealing with. She was acting like they were already going out, when in reality they only kissed. Once. And flirted. Cuddy is making women look bad (again IMO). I'm impressed with my skills of figuring out before the epi that the POtW had gastric bypass. Also knew the hooker lady was House's genius. He knows all; Kutner should have realized that House would be all over that the second he started it.

I knew of course that the House/Cuddy thing would be drawn out; no way they'd just come together. That'd be too easy on us. The boob grab kind of made me sad. I just didn't like it. And I felt for her at the end as well. I tuned in ten minutes late so I didn't understand everything. 13's whole thing was very heartbreaking, too. House/Cuddy are really great on screen together, but when its personal, not the daily nagging (I get sick of seeing that). From what I could tell it was a decent ep.

Two steps forward, one step back. House was aggravatingly juvenile in this episode. Silly me, I had hoped for something clever to come out of the desk and/or office sharing. Taking a sledgehammer to Cuddy's toilet? Really? I just don't get a lot of yuks out of a grown man wantonly destroying his employer's property. As for groping Cuddy at that moment- ugh. That's one of the crassest things he's ever done. I'm probably the only one, but I was genuinely moved by the 13 storyline. The flashbacks were effective and that last one, so poignant. OW did well with her part IMO. They gave the character this awful disease, which I think was a stupid thing, but at least they are finally addressing it with some sensitivity. The bit with Kutner and Taub in the morgue was genius - I could almost forgive them for House's crudity earlier on. For him to give his blessing was dumb, but the bit with the "corpse" was just too funny, and I didn't see it coming. That made it all the better.

olivia720- 12-02-2008

I think 13's disease makes her a lot more interesting, and I think she (OW) did a decent job acting. Good for her.

blue- 12-02-2008

The boob grab was gross, yes, but I think it was a perfectly in-character thing for House to do in response to what he saw as Cuddy's bizarre behavior. And she was acting strange and extreme (and he noticed, which I liked), so he acts extreme too.

fffaw- 12-02-2008

Yeah, I didn't mind 13's storyline tonight at all. That surprised me.

Sister Trixi- 12-02-2008

I didn't hate it so that's something. Because I'm that dense someone tell me if my assumption that House has had sex with the hooker before is correct. I'm having a tough time believing House would go for a tatted up blond over a petite brunette (ala Paula) but maybe I'm being judgmental. I had a feeling that House knew about Kutner's scam and I enjoyed the way it played out. The POTW was a complete yawn for me as was Thirteen. Damn! She gets flashbacks?!

olivia720- 12-02-2008

Agree that Lisa's body is sick, sick, sick. Wowzers. I thought the line House said about you're always dressing like this to get my attention was kind of cool. I thought for sure she'd rebut but she didn't. Odd for her.

NightOwl- 12-02-2008

Please don't tell me House is just socially inept or something, because that was a deliberate act of jerkitude. Yes, it was a deliberate act of jerkitude. The only way it would have been OK for me is if she had kneed him or socked him on the jaw. I think that Cuddy's reaction was the most poignant and most effective, far more communicative than any other possible reaction she could have had, including a physical assault. The act of walking out quietly said, "You just hurt me so much that I have no words. I can't even look at you or be in a room with you right now."

Namaste- 12-02-2008

I thought House and Cuddy's constantly trying to top the other was a great throwback to the dynamic they had starting in the pilot (including the "outrun you" bit echoed with "can't run away" in the elevator scene and his "past the childbearing years" response). When neither of them are sure how to deal with the other emotionally, I can completely see them falling back to this one upmanship that probably dates back to college. It's their comfort zone. And eventually, in this place, House reaches back to those same college years to offer comfort to her in terms of the desk. Hey, just a thought ... any chance the blonde hooker is the same blonde hooker that Wilson used to prank House?

But I personally am so SICK of Cuddy being so freaking pathetic around House! She's almost always seems inept and overmatched as his "boss" and now she's acting like she's never met this man, and simpering over him like a masochistic doormat. Yecch. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but OW was actually good and I was touched by Foreman's hug at the end.
