House was able to remember that the necklace was made out of a resin but not that it's amber?
That's why I think there was something psychological there. If it was just the head trauma, I don't think they would have made such a big point of the necklace and how close he was without getting it. And, he couldn't remember amber until he actually remembered Amber.
I could be imagining it, but I also thought there was a pause before he said "resin" as if he could have said something else, but his mind wouldn't go there.

On the off chance House did SPOILER sleep with Amber, maybe the necklace jumped out to him because he would have been...close...to it and looking right at it.
ETA: As much as some people would love it, I meant House was sleeping with Amber not Wilson :)
SaphronGirl- 05-12-2008
Or that he was so used to calling her Cut Throat Bitch. ;)
But guys, what if Amber followed House on the bus because she was going to ask him for his "permission" to marry Wilson?
olivia720- 05-12-2008
I want answers now!
Funny how House didn't want to remember Amber, so he put a generic gorgeous model in her place. Like she's "safe" to desire, and Amber's not.
LightMyCandle- 05-12-2008
Amber didn't look upset on the bus (you know before a garbage truck slammed into her) so maybe they made peace or something right before. I don't believe SPOILER they slept together though.
olivia720- 05-12-2008
I really hope they didn't cheat on Wilson, cause I don't want the House/Wilson jeopardized.

When House first saw the necklace he said it was a fly in the ointment. Isn't that exactly how House sees Amber wrt Wilson? I suppose one could argue that Amber has become a fly in the ointment precicely because he is sleeping with her but I just don't buy that. I don't know what I think at this point. My mind is still reeling.

She looked a little too peaceful.
House said he followed someone that's why he took the bus why she was we still don't know. I can't believe after telling Wilson he should do what he wants so he doesn't resent her like the wives she would be the one to raise the idea of marriage. Don't know why she was there but I can't see it being that.
I think House didn't want to remember Amber because of how painful it would be to admit what he saw happen to her, those were the feelings that Wilson said House was showing for her. Also someone that means so much to Wilson and he would have to break that news. It's like he was trying to abvoid being the messenger at all costs.
Also we're still missing how they meet up and why Amber was out when she was suppose to be at woork and that info could also be part of what kept House here from remembering it was her.
ETA Sister Trixie on the fly in theointment. That was the first big clue that was Amber. SPOILER: I don't believe House was sleeping with her, I think he considers it, hallucinates it, becasue Taub accuses him (of course) And he can't readilly answer Wilson's question as to why they were together. Leave it to House to come up with the worst possibility first.

I thought House was on the bus cause he was too drunk to ride his bike, so if Amber was with him, couldn't she drive? How did she get to the bar? did he pick her up on his bike?
iamdaffodils- 05-12-2008
Maybe he saw Amber working at the strip club!
Why oh why couldn't they have made this a two hour one part season finale - I don't know if I can stand the wait for part 2!!!!!
filex1410- 05-12-2008
His being drunk is what Wilson said, House didn't seem to think so in the ER. He thought it was becasue he followed someone.
And when he said to Cuddy last time he drove drunk people got M.A.D.D that was a hallucination and seemed more like him not being able to remember yet that he was following Amber.
We've seen House drive high on Vicodin so I can see him driving drunk. He doesn't get on his bike, because he gets distractedby seeing and following Amber.

We also don't know why House was in the bar getting drunk so early or if or how that will play into things.

Scenario
WILSON: That still doesn't explain why you two were on the bus together!
HOUSE: (struggling) It was supposed to be a secret.
WILSON: (appalled) How could you?!
HOUSE: Not that way, idiot. She said she needed to talk to me about something. In private. She wanted it to be a surprise.
WILSON: Wh-what?
HOUSE: (pause) She knows how I feel about your ex-wives. She wanted it to be "kosher" first. Before she popped the question.
Wilson is flabbergasted.
HOUSE: I gave her my blessing.
WILSON: (quietly) Why?
HOUSE: Because I know how you feel about her. And she knows how I feel about you.
The two men stare at each other, in great pain.
HOUSE: I'm sorry, Wilson.

Oh yes! That visit to the bar is the other big missing piece angelcat.

Yeah. I don't think House was really remembering how she was before the actual accident.

This sounds very likely.

Maybe she came into the bar for some reason totally unrelated to House (doesn't explain why she wasn't at work though) and while they're both there, they have some argument, he leaves to take the bus, she follows to continue the argument. And, maybe that's another reason he blocked her, because she wouldn't have been on the bus if it wasn't for him? And, since that's not a rational belief, he probably rejected that from his subconscious, and forgot her along with it.
Or I'm barking up the wrong tree. It's been known to happen
