Was Amber's Jane Doe description the same one they said at the beginning, because as soon as they described it, I thought it was her, but again, I was spoiled so I was just searching for clues along the way. It was the same.

That was just - amazing. I'm still processing it, and it's going to take time to do that, but wow. So many moments made of win, and everything else. Upthread this was compared to "Three Stories" (and I believe that DS or someone did as well at one point) and while they're both Emmy eps, they each stand on their own. "Three Stories" got me hooked back in S1, made me seek out info on the show online, this is keeping me there. I need to rewatch to see so much more, but the moment that had me holding my breath was when he finally remembered the crash. Maybe a little PTSD on my part from two car accidents in May, or maybe TPTB just did it that well, especially with House reaching for Amber. That's what did it. Throughout the entire accident, his need to make sure she was alright, or at least to connect to another human being, and she was the one he connected to. And the crash itself was so well executed by TPTB. Just, shocking. And that little connection, annd that the bus was hit directly behind Amber, who was sitting across from House. Just, wow. And HL's acting throughout all that. Wow.

It is okay to sleep during a concussion. But you need to be awaken every 2 hours. Hence, every time he was at his place, someone was with him.

So... House "caring" about Amber was his subconscious telling him that she's sick/hurt? Cuddy babysitting House? That's new. They're ramping up the Huddy. And Chase actually prevented House from getting at the truth during the hypnosis by telling him to ignore Amber? That's why hypnosis doesn't work, Kutner.

Ok When Hugh came out saying "I can't sleep mommy" I pretty much had an instant orgasm. Olivia - I was just getting ready to post about that. I thought for a split second we might get some Huddy! And I can't remember if you were the one a couple of pages back who didn't tape - but you don't have to wait for the DVD's - it should be repeated on USA next Friday or the next. Thanks for reminding me. Trust me, I'll be camped out on USA's doorstep until that happens!

I thought the reenactment was an hallucination at first. Not because I don't believe House would do it, but because I have a hard time believing that the rest of them would. But, it couldn't have been, unless House hallucinated telling Wilson that it was Amber, because everyone was still on the bus. And, we weren't in House's head while Wilson and Cuddy were doing CPR, we were seeing it from everyone else's pov. So, that had to be real.

that was... OMGness that was just amazing, just WOW. i was also at the edge of my seat the whole time, trying to absorb every single word from the ep. wowwwwwww......!!! i can't believe it!! (i was also screaming "AMBER" when the woman kept saying, what is my necklace made of lol) wow....... i'm still in shock and amazement. i can't wait til next week!! my oh my.

I know there was an actual physical cause for House's amnesia, but could there have been a psychological one? We've been discussing this throughout the semester in my abnormal psych class. And, yes, there could be some psychophysiological cause for the amnesia other than head trauma, but the head trauma would tend to negate a nonorganic cause, such as head trauma. However, as this is TV, and this is a show of odd medical conditions, there could be a slim/slight chance that TPTB were playing that a little as well. Or not, because it could become too complex then. My money's on the head trauma though.

I think the reenactment scene on the bus was just part of the hallucination. Why couldn't it be? What would be the point? It seems to me that one of the major themes we've seen with House, is how much he's willing to put his physical self at risk in order to solve the puzzle (97 Seconds, Distraction, etc.) He did that several times during this episode. Making it all hallucination would negate those risks, IMO. The reenactment scene on the bus didn't seem real. It was just as fakey and unrealistic as all the other scenes. The bus was destroyed and on its side; they couldn't get in there to do that reenactment even if the police allowed them to. Sure, maybe they were in some room in the hospital, "pretending" they were on the bus. Whatever. I think it's all hallucination, just like "No Reason." Maybe I'll think differently upon re-watch, but that's the only way it makes sense to me right now. They wouldn't let him do all that stuff with a concussion. I think everything happened in his mind between the moment he went unconscious in the crash and the moment he woke up.

Namaste- 05-12-2008

By the way, anybody else think of the movie "Frida," and the way they shot her bus crash when it came to finally seeing the crash behind Amber? I'm going to be processing this episode for some time, but I do think it's interesting in a season that has had so many themes on illusion and reality that we've got an episode built around House using illusions in order to recognize reality. ETA: They were obviously on a different bus -- one that wasn't smashed up -- for the reenactment.

Fox will have it posted in 8 days for continuous rewatching and sidereel will have it up some time tomorrow.

Taiga- 05-12-2008

My station doesn't show previews. Is Amber really sick or was House's conviction that someone was sick really just him misremembering that Amber was on the bus with him?

edicotte- 05-12-2008

I had to pause when the woman kept saying "what is my necklace made of?" and try to coax an answer out of my sister and best friend (they came up with rock). When they showed her right leg with the pole through it, I also had to pause and explain why that was so important to them.

LightMyCandle- 05-12-2008

And Chase actually prevented House from getting at the truth during the hypnosis by telling him to ignore Amber? Huh, that's a good point, but I'll ignore that part because Chase was all kinds of hot using his hypnosis voice. And thanks misere, I thought it was the same.

arizonamyrie- 05-12-2008

I thought the reenactment was an hallucination at first. Not because I don't believe House would do it, but because I have a hard time believing that the rest of them would. Well, his original team know how his brain works, and with Cuddy and Wilson, they'd be influenced. That makes three and two for a total of five. Add in his new team, who would participate, there's two more for seven. And I saw a couple of nurses - don't know how they could spare them, but I'm sure Cuddy/Wilson/Cameron/Chase had some pull there. By the way, anybody else think of the movie "Frida," and the way they shot her bus crash when it came to finally seeing the crash behind Amber? Actually, I thought of one of the later season finales of Alias, the one where she goes and gets married and then that cute guy's in the car accident with her.
