Cameron's in charge of unicornolgy not the ER. Yeap, someone has to reattach the horns and save the universe.

I now feel like this whole season has been very meta, especially with the references to acting and tv shows in this episode. And it all makes you wonder how much of these last four episodes came from various events while on strike. Speaking of Cam...actually, the less I say about her, the better. She bugged, I'll leave it at that. Okay, but she was pretty good until the whole "I miss this department but not you" speech - then it seemed to be over the top.

Cuddy wasn't herself tonight. She's been a doormat for a while now, but she just didn't seem to have any spark or spunk at all tonight. If you were under inspection, wouldn't you be a little less spunky? I think she did well -- she really is between a rock and a hard place. She knows House is right most of the time, but she has to cover the hospital's ass. Tonight was a good example of how everything can go wrong. And that House does care about that. If he didn't, he wouldn't have asked about the fine or told her that she should have been fired. I really am loving that last scene more and more with each passing second. ETA: What Namaste says below me. That's right.

I don't think that they really established that Cameron and Chase headed the departments, since I'd see a legitimate argument that they were merely representing their departments in the meeting with Cuddy. (After all, Foreman was there in the meeting too, and he doesn't head a department.) I thought the case was interesting, not being that I know anything about medicine, but it was a new diagnosis and interesting that House knew how to cure him without necessarily having the final diagnosis, which of course would bug him. Interesting that both Cuddy and House know the cost of her acquiescing to House's risks. I also think that it further establishes that Cuddy is willing to take the risk that others wouldn't. The inspector pointed out that 95 percent of the time, the best decision is the safe decision. Cuddy is thinking about that other 5 percent, who can be saved by someone else who operates within that 5 percent parameter. I know a lot of people think that Cuddy is weak because she lets House walk all over her. I think Cuddy is driven by that 5 percent, and the fact that House is the only one who can save them.

Interesting that House solved the case without solving the case, and even more interesting that he wants people to stop him. I think that House always wants people to stop him if they think that they're right. Even as far back as S1 he was constantly telling the Ducklings to stick by their own diagnoses. But i think Houses also recognizes the fact that he's almost always eventually right. Count me in as another person who loved Amber tonight. I can live without seeing another Wilson/Amber make-out scene though. Poor RSL just looks so awkward.

I'm still bowled over that Wilson had an actual sexy scene, and RSL didn't look completely awkward. In fact, he looked sexy! Which is amazing. I really enjoyed Wilson and Amber, but she did seem like a totally different character from the woman I saw last week. Which makes it hard to get a sense of her character...except that maybe Wilson is bringing out something special in her.

Watching W/A make out is about as much fun as watching my parents kiss. (thank god they rarely do) A decent ep. Lots of implausible medical stuff. Amber was still a bitch, even though her heart was in the right place.

jdr1184- 05-05-2008

I thought Cameron said she had a department to run, Namaste. I also read a spoiler that said she was a department head.

I can live without seeing another Wilson/Amber make-out scene though. Poor RSL just looks so awkward. I cringed throughout that scene. It was just so uncomfortable.

The world has shifted on its axis. I liked both Cameron and Foreman tonight. Cameron for doing her job with no fuss. And Foreman for finally dealing with House instead of sulking -- doing the test was the right thing to do. Amber/Wilson was good. I like that she wants Wilson to stand up for himself. The inspection was farcical. Outside agencies don't come in to inspect what care you are prescribing for each patient. They come in to inspect pharmacy records, how instruments are sterilized, whether the trash cans have liners, whether charts are being kept accurately and whether the hospital has functional fire extinguishers (if you have a methadone clinic that one's a problem. Fire extinguishers have a street value.) You don't have one person come in, decide one doctor is doing things wrong and fine the hospital $200k. If the hospital isn't receiving complaints and doesn't have mortality rates that are out of line, they -- or in this case "he" -- probably won't review cases at all. And he certainly wouldn't be reviewing a case still in progress. I did like the serious discussion about human nature and happiness. And I'm wondering whether the final diagnosis was because of Hugh Laurie's Schweppe's commericals.

Chipmunk_love- 05-05-2008

I wonder if Wilson was doing more than comparing mattresses. He could have gone and bought the second mattress all by himself. But I think he really wanted to hear how House would react, and if that's any different than how Amber reacted.

I don't think that they really established that Cameron and Chase headed the departments, since I'd see a legitimate argument that they were merely representing their departments in the meeting with Cuddy. (After all, Foreman was there in the meeting too, and he doesn't head a department.) Thank you for saving my sanity, Namaste! I like that Cuddy is willing to take risks on House, I've just always hated how she seems to think the hospital revolves around him.

I can live without seeing another Wilson/Amber make-out scene though. Poor RSL just looks so awkward. Bless. The poor dear certainly was huffing and puffing a great deal when he ripped open Amber's shirt, wasn't he? ;-) But he looked so adorable and befuddled afterwards. Very irresistible when he looks confused.

It's not surprising to me that House wants people to tell him he's wrong. Just like he wants people to stand up to him and argue with him. But, how did the patient test wrong and then was allergic to something? Was it that they didn't actually test for a quinine (that was it, right?) allergy, and that's why it came up negative? When Cuddy told House that the patient tested negative and he followed into the hall, I was sure he was going to tell her that he didn't actually give the patient the steroids (sorry if I'm messing it up, I don't remember the medicine part too well) and the patient was fine. Didn't think he was coming out because he thought he killed someone. Well, I've always loved CB and this episode just makes me continue to love her. Edited to remove comment I've already figured out the answer to.

I did like the serious discussion about human nature and happiness. So did I. In fact, I thought Jason Lewis was surprisingly good and created a very sympathetic character. So much so that I actually want to know if SoapStud ever does manage to "jump out of the plane"/change.
