I thought the whole issue with Half-Wit was he faked brain cancer. Was syphilis part of the plot too in that episode? Or was it that instead of brain cancer?
In "Half-Wit," House used the tests of a man diagnosed with brain cancer in order to get into the trials. His team then discovered the man had neuro syphilis, not brain cancer. (It wouldn't have been the same blood, since House labeled those tests under the name "Luke N. Laura." This was under his name. As I said above, I think he did it just to see whether the new fellows would bite.)

Oh! While I'm thinking about it, was Chase wearing an arm brace in the bowling scene? Or is that just some bowling attire I'm not familiar with?

It's a bowling thing, a support to keep the wrist in proper position.

Thanks, Poeia and Namaste. I can never remember details like that.

Okay, thanks. :D I wasn't sure if we had something to be worried about.

Random note, second episode in a row that ends on Wilson smiling. How long will his happiness last? I'm betting not long. But I do love that while he's pretty much living the best of both worlds, House and Amber are on doody patrol.

I guess it's the cheapest and easiest way to break them up. They've been together for a year already, plus the FWB era, so the better part of a year and a half. If they break up, it *has* to be over House, right? But it's just stupid to have Chase jealous over the idea of Cameron sleeping with House when she said to House right in front of him that she'd never slept with him and House confirmed it with "We would have used a condom."
I don't think Chase was jealous...well, not entirely. I mean, if House was walking around with syphilis and Cameron had slept with him--a lot of people would start asking questions about sexual history if there were indications somebody was possibly infected. I hated the scene because I wish the stupid Hameron crap was over and done with,
I don't think they'll break them up, I hope not anyway. Chase was completely understanding in UGLY when Cam made her "I love Dr. House." slip. It's understandable he might be a little jealous on occasion especially with an STD lurking. If he didn't care at all he'd be indifferent and that would be a worse sign.
Chase went out with House so he's cool with him. But really poor substitue for Wilson.

House and Amber are on doody patrol.
I think what I find surprising about that is I would have figured both would find some way out of it, or just not taken their punishment.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I was beyond happy to see both Chase and Cameron in this ep, but I felt like the POTW got cheated.
I think that's my problem this season. We used to learn about the characters we cared about through the potw. Now the more time they spend on the potw, the more time they spend on characters that I really have no interest in. So in order to make time for characters I care about, they have to cut potw time, and I wind up uninvested in the patient.
I guess I still feel that they really need to cut the cast and that Thirteen should be the first out the door.
They should also think about distinguishing the new ducks from the old if they are sticking. Kutner was so Chase-like in this ep it was weird.
That being said, I had much love for House and Chase bowling together (and on an admittedly shallow note, much of that love was probably due to seeing Chase in jeans), and Wilson's admission that both House and Amber frighten him.

For someone as private as Chase I was surprised that he would get into it with Cameron (about having sex with House of all things)! in front of everyone. Not once but twice. Weird.
That seemed very out of character to me, as did Cameron's lack of an immediate denial. It actually made me wonder if Chase and possibly Cam too were in on the plot and playing roles of some sort. No other evidence, though.
I did love the family scenes with the old and new ducks together.
Okay, I've never actually done the juggle-SO-and-best-friend thing, so maybe those of you who have can tell me? Was House's plan really that out of line? Two evenings a week just doesn't sound like that much to me for someone who's been your best friend for years, especially if Amber's allowed to cut into his work hours too and House isn't (she's getting the lunches).

Wilson's admission that both House and Amber frighten him.
That reminds me, Wilson's "with all the love in the world" lines had me awwing, squeeing, and laughing. How does one man invoke so many fangirl emotions in me at once?
Kutner was so Chase-like in this ep it was weird.
I thought he was more Cameron-like actually, save for the epiphany at the end, but it's been pretty clear for a while that of the new three, he's the best at the creative thinking.
I get the newbies being fooled by House but Foreman should have known or at least suspected right away because he was the closest to the situation, and Chase and Cameron should have questioned it too.
I actually liked the POTW, he reminded me of John Goodman. On this show, it was just...well, nice to see such a nice guy, even if he was sick.

Re Wilson not being spineless but getting what he wants: I thought his telling Amber about the fake syphilis plot was a demonstration of spinelessness.
For someone as private as Chase I was surprised that he would get into it with Cameron (about having sex with House of all things)! in front of everyone. Not once but twice.
He was being a jerk there, for sure. I am glad to learn that Cameron has at least one friend, however! And how funny is it that Chase is a great bowler?
Is anyone else disappointed that House didn't ask for Tuesdays with Wilson?
Sister Trixi- 04-28-2008
On a shallow note, Amber's skirts are way too short. What's with Cuddy's tank tops?
I liked the look that passed between Foreman and Thirteen when House made his crack about 13/31.
I think I'm starting to like Kutner. He's a dope but he's growing on me.
Wilson is a master manipulator. He's playing both Amber and House. I love him.

I think Chase was too preoccupied with his spat with Cameron and her refusal to let him know if he was at risk for an STD to give much thought to House. I did find it *really* odd that he would press her about it in front of the clones though. I guess that just goes back to the fact that they can't bother to squeeze in much screentime for the two characters.

I think everyone was fooled because they thought they'd come up with something House hadn't any idea of--he wasn't a player in the plot, to their knowledge. On that thought, my interpretation of the blood in plain sight plot is that House was doing his own version of a performance appraisal, and Kutner got a great one. I noticed he particularly asked who found out about the syphilis.
I don't think Half Wit would tip the old team off much, because the point of that was House didn't have syphilis, Mr. Luke N. Laura did.
