Reading back makes me think of some shallow comments. Maybe misery (well, fake misery) turns me on, because I thought House looked especially good when he was acting like he thought the rest of the team was right and he did have syphilis. Yes, I'm odd like that. But, I don't really like the long hair on Chase.

Oddly, I don't want C/C to break up and it's got nothing to do with HAM, they've just really grown on me as a couple, even though seeing them onscreen together is very rare. I've liked them together since last year. But, something will have to come of tonight's suspicions on Chase's part, and there has been a set up all season of Chase thinking Cameron was still very focused on House for someone not focused on House, especially with having to listen to her babble about how exactly she loved House. They can either clear the air or House in absentia will still come between them. With that bowling scene with House and Chase, I'm hoping for the first option, so we get more of these two relate now.

I guess it's the cheapest and easiest way to break them up. They've been together for a year already, plus the FWB era, so the better part of a year and a half. If they break up, it *has* to be over House, right? But it's just stupid to have Chase jealous over the idea of Cameron sleeping with House when she said to House right in front of him that she'd never slept with him and House confirmed it with "We would have used a condom." I don't think Chase was jealous...well, not entirely. I mean, if House was walking around with syphilis and Cameron had slept with him--a lot of people would start asking questions about sexual history if there were indications somebody was possibly infected. I hated the scene because I wish the stupid Hameron crap was over and done with, I wish the writers actually looked at their own continuity (it's been done and over with already, people--remember Half-Wit?), and C/C has actually grown on me. Still, this episode gets a big fat hug from yours truly if only because of the Chase/House bowling scene...and that last punishment scene. Awesome.

In terms of why House would have his blood in the lab ... I don't think he had any big plans for it. It's just that niggling, testing part of his brain that says: What would they do if someone just happened to spot a vial of blood with my ID on it? He wanted to see how the new fellows would react. Of course once they did, he used it to his advantage.

guess the job Amber got after being cut from House's team is at PPTH. If she's not an employee, Cuddy wouldn't have risked hospital liability by having her help House at the end. I thought Amber said at some point that she hadn't quit her other job while she was competing in the job contest. Maybe I misunderstood . I knew immediately that House was faking the syphilis. I think telling Wilson was actually a test for Amber. Watching House ruin it for Amber will be kind of fun. I think she's screwing Wilson to get back at House. For someone as private as Chase I was surprised that he would get into it with Cameron (about having sex with House of all things)! in front of everyone. Not once but twice. Weird. I guess they're breaking up.

I liked Chase and Cameron. It sounds like Cameron might be a bit clingy if Chase doesn't want to see her every day. Huh, it kind of seemed the other way around, Chase was extremely paranoid about Cameron sleeping with House. I don't get the point of her not answering him though. I guess maybe she's tired of being reminded about her feelings for House and it always being assumed that everything she does is to impress him or get into his pants. That was later -- once they thought House had syphilis, Chase was concerned about whether Cameron had been in a position to get it and thereby infect him. Considering Cameron's opinions about cheating, which we've known from S1 (Fidelity) and I assume Chase became aware of sometime in the next 2-3 years, his multiple questions in public were a bit much. When they were alone would have been a better time to pursue it. But in the bowling scene, Chase gave House the idea for the joint custody of Wilson. Cameron has a friend he doesn't like so he picked Thursday -- he doesn't want to be with her every day anyway. That sounded like she wanted them to be living in each other's pockets.

I thought the whole issue with Half-Wit was he faked brain cancer. Was syphilis part of the plot too in that episode? Or was it that instead of brain cancer?

guess the job Amber got after being cut from House's team is at PPTH If she's not an employee, Cuddy wouldn't have risked hospital liability by having her help House at the end. I don't think so a volunteer could do what they were doing, doody patrol. This is the authority Wilson gave Cuddy as referee of H/A Amber likes to boast on their sex life to House and yet Wilson mentions her needing Lube? Back door? Just slap me. Not at all Sauty, Thank you. I'm just fine with Wilson perferring the back entrance, especially with Amber. Then he can really pretend it's House. :D I feel even better now. It's so Brokeback. Pardon the pun. House borrows money to test the bounds of their friendship. Does Wilson date a bitch to accomplish the same? Once again Great point! He also lies to him too.

IHARTHUGH- 04-28-2008

Am not sure I enjoy the show's evolution from focusing on the medical issues, with revelations about the characters growing from that, to a focus on House's need to jerk people around. Last night I watched some the House Marathon on USA, and those first year episodes were, I hate to say, superior in the way the characters worked together. Yes, I know - three years later, and we can't repeat what we already have learned. I concede the series must change so as not to get stale. But these games House plays - tonight's was done for no purpose other than to jerk people around. To me, there's a difference in wanting to see what makes people tick, and just manipulating emotions. (Although I just melted when the team told him he had syphilis - the look on his face - combo of anger and pain and embarrassment - was just great!). If Amber really cares for Wilson, I feel sorry for the gal. She's going to lose big time.

I thought the whole issue with Half-Wit was he faked brain cancer. Was syphilis part of the plot too in that episode? Or was it that instead of brain cancer? I'm not sure. But I'm surprised that the old team didn't make the connection that House was screwing with everyone. Based on their past experiences, they should have at least been suspicious.

I thought the whole issue with Half-Wit was he faked brain cancer. Was syphilis part of the plot too in that episode? Or was it that instead of brain cancer? Chase figured out that the patient actually had neurosyphilis by pressing some buttons on the computer after Foreman and Cameron had give up on some protein search (or something). So when the three of them trotted merrily off to tell House he wasn't dying it was also to break it to him that he had syphilis instead of brain cancer. Thus the "I'm really glad I didn't sleep with you" comment from Cameron.

I thought the whole issue with Half-Wit was he faked brain cancer. Was syphilis part of the plot too in that episode? Or was it that instead of brain cancer? There was a patient he thought had brain cancer who's tests House used to get into the drug trial in Boston. CCF discovered that "House" didn't have cancer, he had syphilis. They came to his apartment in the middle of the night to tell him (and Cameron announced that she was glad she had never slept with House.)

aithlyn- 04-28-2008

I have to run to work NOW but just wanted to add this: House obviously can't bowl, so why bowling? So he could go to Wilson's house in bowling shoes. He was trying to make Wilson jealous! Because "bowling is one of the two things guys don't do alone," so it's obvious he had to be out with someone else! And with Chase as good as he is at it, perhaps he has a reputation for it around the hospital. This *so* works in terms of the fic I'm working on. Yay!

Ranee- 04-28-2008

So, unless Chase thinks Cameron cheated on him since last May or slept with House sometime between the FWB and their real relationship, it just doesn't make sense AT ALL. Its perfectly feasible that something might have happened between Half-Wit & Human Error. There's that notorious scene in Resignation when Cameron lets herself in to House's apt. We simply don't know what might or might not have happened, but there's a big enough time period where its a possibility. I don't think Chase's insecurity is unusual given we've just seen him watching Cameron debating whether or not she loves House in Ugly (IIRC). So it sounds like this ep is worth seeing? More balanced use of the team versus the H/W/A stuff? Despite a meh PotW?

LightMyCandle- 04-28-2008

Cameron has a friend he doesn't like so he picked Thursday -- he doesn't want to be with her every day anyway. That sounded like she wanted them to be living in each other's pockets. Yeah, I know what you're talking about, it's just that we've seen Chase question Cameron's feelings toward House in the past, more than once. It seems so strange to think that the girl who used to not give Chase the time of day and repeat over and over that she wanted nothing to do with him, now wanting to spend all her free time with him. It's not a bad thing, IMO, it's just weird considering who we're dealing with here.
