Reading back makes me think of some shallow comments. Maybe misery (well, fake misery) turns me on, because I thought House looked especially good when he was acting like he thought the rest of the team was right and he did have syphilis. Yes, I'm odd like that.
I'm with you Bessie Mae. But one thing that did bother me about that. That particular expression is one that we always read as House tormented or troubled or in pain--either in emotional or physical turmoil. This is the second time this season he's used that demeanor to manipulate. The other was in Guardian Angels. That expression is the window we have to Houes's truth (his real state of mind--since he conceals it so much of the time). If that clue is now suspect as a potential lie as well, where can we find House's self?
I know where you're coming from. But in both cases House was being watched and putting on the turmoil face for show to intentionally mislead others. In 'No More Mr Nice Guy" he changed it to a perfect poker face as soon as everyone had left the room. He couldn't have given us a grin or we would have immediately been sure that it's another game. But he also didn't continue the 'troubled House' thing.
So, IMO we still have the window to House's truth every time we see him with that particular expression when he is alone or thinks nobody is watching him. (And I'm waiting for that to happen again!)

But why would Wilson ask in this moment whether House will continue sleeping with Person X? House does not have syphilis, so if he is sleeping with someone, then there is no need to stop sleeping with that person. (Regardless, I don't think House is sleeping with anyone.)
Wilson said, "You're gonna keep screwing—"
I think if he had completed the question, it would have been:
You're gonna keep screwing with your new team?
or
You're gonna keep screwing with Amber?
or
anything similar to that effect.
Umm, Cameron on Thursdays?? And Wilson knows (House didn't ask for Thursdays with him, Amber gets those). .
There is no reason to admonish House to stop sleeping with anyone at the moment, because House does not actually have an STD.
Do you seriously think that Cameron is sleeping with House on Thursdays instead of hanging out with her insufferable friend? That is quite a leap.
If she were sleeping with House on Thursdays, then her reaction to hearing he has syphilis would have been far different from the reaction we saw.

Its a joke. Apparently I wasn't clear enough.

Ok I've just rewatched the episode. I honestly think that House is hurt, when he goes to talk to Wilson in his office and finds Amber there. He is right it is not the same. I also think it is ridiculous that House can't spend what would be considered work time with Wilson. He can only see him on Wednesday evenings and alternate weekends? That is extremely manipulative on Amber's part. Does that mean they can't have lunch together without House getting a "penalty?" Does she have a job, or is she just sponging off of Wilson? She seems to spend a lot of time at PPTH.
I know this is probably a big rehash.

I can definitely see the disappointment and anger at the end, the same way I could see shock and concern when the team told him about his blood test result. I knew he was faking, but I almost believed him. The thing is, it's getting harder and harder for me to decide what it's real and what it's just a ruse from him.
House had a goal and to reach that goal he used one of Wilson's many, many flaws. He was hurt because Wilson told her, but I don't think he was surprised. He acted that way because that was what the others would expect from him.
And I may be wrong, but I guess Wilson's little indiscretion won't have any consequence.
Cameron... Honestly, she didn't answer Chase's questions because these are the kind of questions that do not deserve an answer. He was completely out of the line in asking her that in front of strangers. And the hell just froze, because I just defended Cameron

Someone said it beautifully upthread a bit when they said that lately, the way to tell what's going on in House's mind is to study him when he feels he's not being studied. The smirks and the poker faces are the biggest giveaways of all.
Perhaps DS and co. feel they've gotten one over on the fandom that they were actually able to screw with our heads for a little while. Now, that would be an interesting topic to explore: we were talking about the contracts between the various characters, but what about the unspoken contract between TPTB and us? Are they obliged to make us feel that we can easily dissect the show?

To answer this, and someone else who pointed out that House would've *pretended* to look hurt/anger upon finding out that Wilson had blabbed to Wilson: this is true. However, we have no other evidence in the text to support this idea. House in no other part of the episode said or implied that he was trying to show Wilson that he couldn't trust Amber-- we did, however, see him being reluctant to trust Wilson.
I guess either reading is valid, but I'm sticking with the House Tested Wilson (Though He Already Expected The Results).
On contracts... I think the only contract TPTB have with us is to deliver an entertaining show every week. The rest-- consistent characterization, thoughtful themes, good jokes-- is "extra." In reality, they don't owe us anything. They owe high ratings to the network and the sponsors. Sadly. :P

Well, this is the internet, so tone is easily misinterpreted. There were no smilies in your post to indicate you were joking. I just visited another board where plenty of people are serious in their assertion that Cameron sleeps with House on Thursdays.

Absolutely! And to tell the truth I'm not expecting any resolution or consequence from those "betrayals", but we'll see

ITA. And I really don't want an easy show to dissect. I like that I can't "read" House (or Wilson in a even more extent) perfectly, that they can still fool me after four seasons.

Very true, but try telling that to everyone who's pissed off at DS and co. right now for not following "their" agenda.

Yup, and I found it bizarre that Chase's mind would go there. Afterwards I realized it was exactly Cuddy's reaction when Volger asked if she'd slept with House, though, which made me want to yark. But I still can't believe it.

You know Amber also echoes a previous Cuddy line in NMMNG the "I like sex." statement to House.
Cuddy must be the role model for all of the other women.
13's turn is coming.
Explains Amber's excessively short skirts, next boobage for Cameron.
I'm sure she can borrow somebody's.
The Amber confrontation is also in a somewhat similar scenario as the Cuddy one, House purposefully interrupting/interfering in other's sex life.
Specifically of course Wilson and Cuddy. I guess some things do never change.

Perhaps if Cam and 13 "pool their resources" they can come up with one big boob that they can share.

Uh I don't think 13/OW can be of much help, thems some tinies.
Which doesn't stop her from showing them off in every photo shoot she gets.
Hey I just figured it out, 13 is her bust measurement.
I'm cruel, I know.

It has certainly been interesting reading various reactions to NMMNG around the net...
Once again I am intrigued by the way the pendulum seems to keep swinging when it comes to fan reactions to the show. It seems like not to long ago, I was reading all these posts about season three, about how "dark and dismal" everything was getting and how it spelled the downfall of the show. And then season four started, and then I was reading about how "silly" the show was getting and how it was too much a "comedy" now - and surely this meant the downfall of the show.
And I was reading about how DS is so unfair, because he keeps leading us all on with these "shippy hints" and he really should just stop stringing us along - and then he comes out and says "Ham" is dead and H/W won't happen and suddenly he is a big meany for destroying our dreams and stupid for being so open and not continuing to string us along.
And recently it was all about how "episodic" House was getting, and how the old formulas - the clinic, TPOTW, the repeated wrong diagnoses - were getting boring and predictable and it was time for something new - and surely this spelled the coming downfall of the show. And then we get this episode and I am reading about how people miss the "good old formulas" and why are they messing with a sure thing, and where are the clinic patients, and we need more emphasis on TPOTW! Obviously, this will lead to the downfall of the show!
And we complain that the show does not focus upon character interaction enough and relationships, so isn't it good we can read fanfic - cause that gives us the emotional fulfillment we need. But now I am reading all about how the show has become "too much like fanfic!"
I swear, this show can't win for losing!
