House didn't just ask to spend time with Wilson. He proposed a totally crazy "custody" agreement and that's when CB told Wilson to talk to him. For House a custody agreement for a grown man might be reasonable, but for most people there's nothing reasonable about it, and I think a lot of people's reaction would be, "that's your crazy friend. You deal with his insanity."
Nothing I saw, and I just rewatched the scenes with her, reflected a negative, bad feeling towards Wilson. I also don't see how her being annoyed with their having sex being deliberately sabotaged says that all she cares about with Wilson is sex. It's one of the things, and since that is the one point that House was going after it makes sense that it's what would be concentrated on. I'm sure if House had sabotaged them spending a quiet evening watching tv or something else, she would have called him on that. The only reason it was sex is because that's where House's plot was aimed.

Since we've never seen Wilson and Amber in a private moment without House in which they could just enjoy each other's company, that's kind of a moot point.
Think there might be a reason for that?
Neither of them even mention doing anything together. They only mention sex and you have to wonder how much that's being enjoyed when one is scheduling it like a daily inspection and the other is knowingly getting drunk to avoid it.
Like everything else on this show if we don't see it or hear about it odds are it is not happening.
I don't want to get into a fight over a matter of mileage. Sorry if I generalized, but then I've seen one too many comments in other communities (especially House/Wilson communities) on how people will have to vomit if they're forced to watch Wilson and Amber kissing.
Silly talk that their entitled to that is probably 3/4 of a joke anyway. They don't want to see what they don't want to see.
I wouldn't take it so serious.

Semantics whether he asked to spend time with Wilson or setup custody it all boiled down to the same thing, he would like to see his friend and he had to ask permission to do it. The person who called it reasonable was Wilson which is why he didn't talk to House when Amber insisted.
Nothing from Amber reflects a postive, good, happy, sweet, etc., feeling towards him.
I also think breaking Wilson's confidence to rat out House does show bad faith on Amber's part towards Wilson.
There may be other things besides sex that goes on between W/A but we neither saw or even heard anything else mentioned. Maybe that's why House's honed in on their sex life, raised by Wilson twice and at last three times by Amber, there is nothing else in their realtionship to go after.

I don't see why this is crazy. Sure, it was not incredibly prudent of him to put it terms of a "custody agreement," but plenty of couples plan around their friends. Some guys have poker nights, some women have "girls' night out" - how is that any different from what's going on here? Just because she's dating him doesn't mean Amber is allowed to have a 100% hold on Wilson's after-work playtime.

When House tells Wilson about his ruse, he says he knows his team will want to test him for something sometime and he put the vial of blood in the lab with his name on it. Wilson asks why he switched the blood, what doesn't he want that testing to reveal? House cuts him off swiftly when he says Wilson is missing the point, and he distracts him by pointing out how diabolically funny his plot is. I think we had a hint that House is protecting something about himself, and also that House used this particular situation to do his own kind of performance review on his team.
Thank you. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Or it is not necessary to the current story and they don't bother showing extraneous things unless they are about House.
I've never seen Cameron sleep in a bed (and only once, I believe, with her head on a table) and Chase and Foreman also caught a nap in a lounge in Top Secret. But I'm pretty sure all three of them have gotten a few hours of sleep in the last 4 years.
Cuddy eats occasionally (between her monthly frozen yogurts with sprinkles that House told us about and the one time she took Wilson to dinner).
I'm even willing to bet that Wilson has had more than the dozen or so people as patients in the last 4 years despite the fact that we've only seen him with about that many.

I take the wink to mean you know you are oversimplifying.
The current story line is H/A via for Wilson time and how they spend it with him.
Right now W/A have a pretty narrow spectum of activities, all involving lube and bodily fluids.
Heck in 44 minutes of H/W we got mini-golf, a heart-to-heart, joking about the team, sneaking off for bowling and bar hopping.
Their life is just so much more full. :)

The "custody agreement" just adds another layer of humour into the premise of House interfering in Amber and Wilson's relationship.
House may have realized that Wilson wanted some space from Amber, just like Chase wanted some space from Cameron. And given that Amber already had other plans on Wednesdays, she may want some space of her own.
Of course in a healthy relationship the two parties would have discussed this between themselves, and House wouldn't have pushed the issue, but...

But, she never said she wanted 100% of his after work play time. She didn't even object to the fact that House wanted to spend time with Wilson. She objected to what I still say is the crazy idea of a custody agreement. And, it's crazy because House was proposing that who Wilson spent time with and when was something to be decided between him and CB, with no input from Wilson. He was proposing treating Wilson as a kid. That's nuts, and objecting to that in no way implies that she wants Wilson all to herself. And, after she saw that Wilson was happy to sit back and let the two of them decide who he'd spend his time with and when, she got right into the agreement and said Wednesdays, which could be the equivalent of poker night.

Has anyone considered that Wilson manipulated both House and Amber so that the two of them would spend more time with each other? He seemed pretty pleased that they were 'punished' together at the end of this episode.

I think he seemed a little sad too. But he probably felt they were both getting what they deserved, hence the smile.
I highly doubt Wilson thinks H/A are going to bond over poopy beds.
But maybe they'll be a little nicer behaved next time.
ETA, Yes, Chipper!

I also noticed that House made the effort to have a conversation with her and then seemed disappointed that she lied. She was so proud of herself for saying "Of course I am" but once she caught House's expression, she quickly sobered. So, through it all, he is trying.

Except that Amber is not a newbie in House's world, is she? She worked with him throughout the Survivor's game and she was the one who saved his life after that whole electrocution thing. She knows how "crazy" his ideas can be. She also knows how much he wants Wilson in his life, so why be so surprised with a custody agreement? It was far from being one of his most outrageous ideas - I think it was quite sweet, actually. And if she don't want to deal with House's insanity, well, then she doesn't want to deal with Wilson either.
House proposed the deal and she accepted, then she started to sabotage his time with Wilson, making little remarks, almost all of them about their sex life - it was her who sexualized the issue, House only takes the bait. I think she actually gave House the overture he wanted, turning the custody into a game, and proving that he was right, people don't change: she still needs to win at all costs. It was a trap and she fell.

Amber is a female proxy for House. So I think it goes without saying that she wanted %100 of Wilson's avaliable time. And yes Wilson is manipulating the situation because either way he wins and still comes out being the good guy, while House and Amber fight to the death. Recall all Wilson's wives hated House and none were mad at Wilson. But unlike the wives, Amber is going to turn her wrath on Wilson and all hell is going to break loose. I can't wait to see the certifiable side of Amber.

Eeeee. Finally got to watch.
The House/Wilson/Amber trio is...certainly something. They're very entertaining.
Loved seeing the snippet of the soap with Jason Lewis in it. Heh.
Foreman trying out his understanding boss thing again is sort of adorable.
Oh, Chase. In front of a crowd? Is so not the place to be asking that question. If anyplace, because it's not so much any of his business, unless he's ready to actively accuse her of cheating. And the paranoia seemed really random...but what was interesting was that unlike Ugly? That wasn't exactly played for laughs - he was dead serious. I'm glad Cameron wasn't interested in indulging his crazy there. However, the bowling scene was cute.
I didn't quite get Taub's little monologue there, but I liked Thirteen's little "oookay" smile at the end, and the comment about decent parenting. Kutner was fun, too, really getting to be a good doctor in this episode. Although I've generally liked them all better since IAWL anyway.
The patient's little "Wonder what else I don't like?" was interesting. You could see that his wife was worried, but he seemed to be regarding it as a new adventure.

I kind of wondered about that myself. Like he'd never be able to get them to sit down and have dinner, but would force them to get used to each other instead.
Bessie Mae- 04-29-2008
I don't see what her not being a newbie has to do with anything. His phrasing of it was juvenile. And, just because you're used to it doesn't mean you can't call him on it. I said she objected to House acting like Wilson was their love child, and somehow that turned into her objecting to House wanting to spend time with Wilson at all. Which, from what I saw, rewatching it a few times, never happened.
It's like the only acceptable thing for her to do is roll over and let House do whatever he wants.
