If I could produce a coherent thought....... I was so happy and had so much hope.... when Wilson chased House down at the end, I was so sure....... :( I really hope that House doesn't have to wait too long, now that they both IMO realized they are meant for each other.

The ending made me want to cry for a moment. I've been iffy on the whole BGW idea, but I totally believe House loves Wilson, so... The epiphany line seemed to me to apply to both storylines, telling House that Wilson could still love him even if it wasn't the way he wanted him to. Chase still exists, huh. And doesn't take House seriously when he says they need him! But, yes, the moment he showed up, I thought "there's too many characters to keep track of here". There were too many personal bits going on for one ep -- the patient and love triangle plots, plus the bits about Thirteen and Taub. Loved Cuddy's chalk outline line and the look on Foreman's face when he heard about Wilson and Amber. Overall, didn't think the episode was that good, though. Wasn't bad, certainly, but not that special. The House-Wilson content was important, but the presentation didn't impress me all that much.

Really loved this one, too. I think the new rhythm of the show is gelling. Each of the newbies is coming into focus, and in this one 13 was vulnerable, rather than challenging--I liked her. And that storyline will be interesting to explore--I don't think this is Camterritory :D . Nice use of Chase, both of his medical expertise, out of the box thinking, and--yay!--House acknowledging that expertise and outof the box thinking. Chase is the only one so far of the Ducks to get an out and out "I need you." Like Namaste, I think this one was a quieter, more emotional episode. I'm not sure that House is actually self-sacrificing here. I think he's doing the opposite of what Wilson expects for a reason, and I don't think he's expecting it to last. But I think his talk with Amber did help him decide not to actively help its demise. I love House and Amber's interactions. Anne Dudek knows how to challenge without being smug. She can stay. What House thinks about this revelation that Wilson wants to date a female version of himself remains to be seen. Oh please, let's have a few more eps this year!

That was a seriously quality episode. Characterization! Plot! And I was delighted that the patient's choice to change her life was not a symptom. She and her husband absolutely glowed with affection for each other. Heeeee, Foreman. Definitely working for House too long. I really love Taub and Foreman working together. I'm not sure what to make of Foreman's chatter about commitment when he seems to have issues with it. Perhaps he idealizes it Cuddy was smart and funny, and dang, she must be figuring out the tough love conversation thing. I was afraid Wilson would dump Amber out of sheer terror. And the Wilber! I loved Amber messing with House's head, and admitting that if she had to choose, Wilson is the prize she really wants. (However, moving in after four weeks...that's a little speedy there, Wilson.) Plus it encouraged quality HoYay as well. (ETA: So for surreal weirdness, we just started watching Bones, and here is Anne Dudek, in her bra and Booth's shirt.) Finally, some characterization to sink one's teeth into. Kutner is a giant geek...and a smart geek. Thirteen's "mystery" isn't as mysterious as she thinks it is. Chase! There you are. Still not taking crap, and you're sneaky again, too. No Cameron then, but like Sunday, no logical place for it.

. Nice use of Chase, both of his medical expertise, out of the box thinking, and--yay!--House acknowledging that expertise and outof the box thinking. Chase is the only one so far of the Ducks to get an out and out "I need you." At least Chase has been written consistenly in his 8 minutes of screentime for the season. I think it's great that he came up with a creative idea to get House what he wanted. I also loved the bewildered look on his face when House said that he needed him.

NightOwl- 02-05-2008

jair, I totally loved the scenes between House and Amber. Especially the first one, when he broke into her apartment. He was freakin' SCARY MENACING, at least in my opinion. That quiet seething assertiveness. Yikes. And if House really is setting Wilson free in order to show him he loves him in order to "win" him... ugh. He knows Wilson is interested; Wilson is the one who was saying "We're already a couple," etc. All he has to do is say, "Ok Wilson, let's be a couple" and grab his face and kiss him... and I think Wilson would say ok.

LightMyCandle- 02-05-2008

I honestly cannot believe they addressed half of the things that they addressed. Wilson outright admitting that he and House might as well be dating. I know it may be cruel, but I loved just how hurt and resgined House seemed after talking to Amber in the conference room. I figured he was going to try and share Wilson after that. He did something for Wilson, he cares about his happiness. This has never been more clear to me. I'm so happy for Wilson, I can hardly take it. He gets the girl and he gets to keep House. Win-win...for now. Kutner continues to be made of awesome. Totally called 13 being gay or bi. That counts as "shocking" right? Are Chase and Cameron just doing an episode trade-off now? I prefer it with Chase. BTW, Chase's hair was looking especially great tonight. I love Amber, I do.

The ending made me want to cry for a moment. I've been iffy on the whole BGW idea, but I totally believe House loves Wilson, so... BGW = ??? Big Gay Wilson?

What I also can't believe is that Wilson moved out of the hotel and is now presumably living with CTB.

Poeia- 02-05-2008

I'll be interested to hear what some of the more religious members on the boards think of their treatment of the couple. I thought it gave them and their beliefs a lot of respect. Sure House mocked them, but he mocks all religions, but neither them nor their beliefs were made fools of, from what I could see. (Well, other than that ugly beard.) I am not religious, but I think the show has a track record of allowing real beliefs easily withstand House's mocking -- the nun in DIYD, the gypsiess in NiaH and this. Even in House vs. God, the kid was a charlatan but his father was a real believer who was foolish for believing in his son so much but not for believing (and once House got him to see the difference, he did step up as a father.) Add that David Shore's family is religious (both brothers are rabbis), it was unlikely that they would trash their religion. It did question how relevant their beliefs are in today's world, but there are Hassids who do that. (Those that decide they are still relevant stay, others leave.) I did like that House knew the prayers and what they meant. He doesn't believe in religion but I don't think it was a knee-jerk decision on his part. He studied and examined and decided, based on what he had learned, that people are morons with regard to faith as well as everything else. That decision may or may not be right (whether or not you agree with it depends on how religious you are), but at least it was a considered decision.

What I also can't believe is that Wilson moved out of the hotel and is now presumably living with CTB. It fits his usual MO, what we know of that MO(Grace). He's changing, but not everything at the same time. He's trying.

Taiga- 02-05-2008

Chase is the only one so far of the Ducks to get an out and out "I need you." No, Foreman did at the end of 'Human Error'. I hope that Wilson doesn't repeat his mistakes with Amber. He's become self-aware enough to realize what he needed to change, which logically means that he should realize how he screwed his last relationships up. It should help that she's clearly different from every other woman he's ever dated. I like the idea that House gave his blessing because he realized that she genuinely cares about Wilson as a person. How sad was it when she said she's always had to choose between love and respect? I liked that in the end they accepted that people could choose a religous life without being crazy, and that as Cuddy put it so well changing a life you're not happy with is a sign of GOOD mental health. So what does that "Sabbat Shalom" thing mean? Even in House vs. God, the kid was a charlatan but his father was a real believer My interpretation was that the kid really did believe God spoke to him and that he could cure people, that he was a believer too. He was simply wrong, not deceitful IMHO.

jair, I totally loved the scenes between House and Amber. Especially the first one, when he broke into her apartment. He was freakin' SCARY MENACING, at least in my opinion. That quiet seething assertiveness. Yikes. It really continued the textured quality of their confrontation in House's office. You're right--House was there to get a message across. But Amber was able to hear it and send one back, without lecturing or threatening. I'm not sure either actually changed, so much as we saw sides of them they usually keep under wraps. I suppose the change is they were willing to let others see. Chase is the only one so far of the Ducks to get an out and out "I need you." No, Foreman did at the end of 'Human Error'. Whoops, you're right. First one this season, I guess.
