HtR, House was trying to watch cable in Coma Guy's room (and BTW YAY for return of Coma Guy, I've missed him!) and Cuddy came in and said that the budget committee voted to charge patient's for cable now. Cameron is on the budget committee, so House went to her to demand they bring back free cable. She said no, so House send the newbies to pressure her into backing down.
And no, I never for a moment thought that Cameron was really fired. Cuddy was playing him. Time has shown us that PPTH does not fire people for killing patients.
That was the only part of the show I didn't care for at all.
It was silly, but everything else was so good it made up for it.

What a great episode. Alone and Ugly just bounced down my favorites of the season list.
"He's' been wooing me for years." – Further support for the Taiga theory that House has been in love with Foreman all this time.
Wilson making a run for it cracked me up. He was so much fun tonight. And yay, Amber!
I really liked Cate, and thought Mira Sorvino did a fantastic job. She exuded pragmatism, intelligence, and moxie without ever seeming over-the-top. House's connection with her also seemed authentic – not just that she magically got him, but that they really got each other. (And incidentally, the mechanic was adorable.)
The new ducks were more fun this week. I like House trying to get it into their heads that the game is over and it's time to get it into a different gear. And there you go, Kutner, showing what you can do. (No Chase, though, mild bummer. Although attempting to squeeze him in here might have been weird.)
Wasn't it loose bone marrow that killed the kid in A Separate Peace?
And somehow, I am terribly satisfied that House never got his cable.

Did Cameron really quit from the budget committee, or was that just something she said? And, what was the purpose of her telling the team? I'm assuming she wanted them to tell House, but I don't know what quitting or letting House think she quit would have accomplished? Did she think he'd back off once he found out?

I was happy until I had to see Wilson kissing CTB.
LightMyCandle- 02-03-2008
You've never asked me that question and you've seen me fall down stairs drunk,
I forgot that one in the midst of all the hoyay. However, House did ask Wilson if he was okay in AYA.

God only knows what goes through that girl's head....I liked the way she had her hair done up though. I really am obsessed with her hair to an unhealthy degree. It's the one thing I like about her (sometimes).
Okay so, House implied that Cate was kind of like Wilson and Amber is like House so....oh, COME ON!!!

Foreman: "He's been wooing me for years." I laughed my ass off.
That had to be my favorite line from the episode. :P

I think the smile on Cameron's face when she walked away, which is at odds with her stern tone when she tells House off, signalled that she was playing the game and she thinks she's made a great move. The point of the subplot was to let the newbies know they can move on from the mindframe of the Survivor arc--they survived and now they need to show their stuff, which includes standing up to House. Cameron was there to show the old team all learned this and take no crap. They do, however, appear to enjoy the games :D .

Whatever it was, it apparently went through Cuddy's head as well.
Was that the first time Cuddy and Cameron have co-conspired on anything? I'm thinking it must be. Strange considering they don't seem to like each other much.

Did Cameron really quit from the budget committee, or was that just something she said?
I think it was just something she said, to tempt House to push the newbies into doing something even more stupid that she could take to Cuddy - which she did. It wasn't so much that the plot was stupid (yeah for the Coma Guy!), but that Cameron & the newbies were frankly annoying - I ask you, could 13 & Taub have been any more sour? The newbies, apart from the final ddx in the hallway, were pretty redundant in this ep (which is probably why I liked it).
That said - no Chase, WTF? And when, oh when are they ever going to learn to do a full body exam from the get go?

Oh, I got that she was playing the game. I just couldn't tell what that particular move was supposed to accomplish. What result was she anticipating when she smiled?
eta: From comments above, I suppose it was so House would think he'd gone too far? Resigned from the committee then got fired?
eta again: I think I might have confused a few scenes in the cable subplot.

BTW I consider the dumping the box of supplies on the table thing to be a shout-out to Apollo 13. In that movie, they did the same thing with the supplies on the shuttle, including dumping the box on the conference table and I think even used the same line.
BTW Kutner got the diagnosis!

I think so. Okay, so what does this teach us? The common denominator in all the failed conspiracies is Cuddy. Let's blame her!
Just kidding.

So was Cameron fired or not? I hope she was because she was seriously the only downside to the episode. Her character serves no purpose now, let's put her out of her misery.
I highly doubt she was fired.
She wasn't, they were just trying to pull one over House.

I don't think she knows, but she knows she's played an unexpected card and foiled this particular plan. I don't think she thinks he'll quit, though. She's enjoying the game.

Which didn't work, because they should have known better.
