4.07 Ugly
Yeah, I know, I'm Ugly. It's ok. I'm over it. Hee! I've been really looking forward to this ep, and two minutes in, I don't think I'm going to be disappointed. That was the first teaser I've been engaged with in ages, even before Chase appeared; I'd gotten used to thinking they were ignorable. House shuts them out of Cuddy's office, turns around, and the real camera is using exactly the angle he told the film crew to use. :-) Hee again! "A few minutes to be disemboweled" - I like Cuddy again! At least for the moment. And House is a practicing Wiccan! Okay, I need to lay off the exclamation marks, but there is just too much hee in this episode to believe. After the earlier part of the season, it's wonderful to see that they haven't forgotten how to make drama that's both funny and serious and character-heavy at the same time. This ep gets rewound and rewatched as soon as it's over. The only flaw I've seen so far is that Volakis should know better than to sit on stools in a skirt that short. "Did he become an idiot around Chase?"! I love all the Wilson and House scenes talking about Terzi, and House's concern is adorable. And this ep manages to balance plenty of good bits for all the old cast, all of them, without ignoring the newbies. "Why can't you accept that you cured this kid?" Um, because he's seen the show before and knows it can't be solved only three-quarters of the way through? Interesting, though, to see House trying to argue that he was wrong for a change. "The horror!" Oh, House's expression is priceless in the last Cuddy scene. I am in love all over again.

Taiga- 11-13-2007

Word. I loved the twist, that the kid wasn't diagnosed because he was so ugly. I loved learning more about House and about Taub. Even though they've already done the serial philandering doctor, I'm hoping they keep him and Kutner. CAMERON ADMITTED SHE'S STILL IN LOVE WITH HOUSE. On camera. And Chase knows it.

SaphronGirl- 11-13-2007

That last scene with appalled!House had me dying with laughter...

jdr1184- 11-13-2007

Cameron being a love struck idiot is not usually so funny, but really it was the look on Chase's face that killed me. House's horror over the sappy spin was great, but yet another ep where Wilson does nothing but offer weriod advice on dumping and dating. I'm glad CIA is gone. It was a fun ep but not too memorable.

LightMyCandle- 11-13-2007

First of all BLUE THE JANITOR MADE IT IN :P Two things I didn't expect to say. I was slightly amused by Cameron's insecurity, and I kind of felt sorry for CIA chick...kind of. I was really disappointed that House suddenly couldn't think clearly around a pretty girl. WTF? What do you call Cameron and Cuddy? Whatever.

cindylouwho- 11-13-2007

Ok I was far more pleased with this episode than the others. I was NOT pleased with the lack of HoYay! I was glad to finally see the "blew the janitor" scene. Cameron loves House. Old news. Glad he fired MM. She was an idiot. And glad House is not going to get a date with her. I was very happy to see all of the H/W scenes. Too bad they spent most of their time checking out MM & 13's racks. I'd rather see House be "that guy" around Wilson! And poor HL. Not only does he have to be on tv, he had to watch himself on tv, while on tv. :(

DrSpaceman- 11-13-2007

Wait. Wilson in half the episode? Chase in more than one scene? Cameron acting like Cameron instead of approximating Wilson or acting like Bitch!Cameron? Cuddy actually making some smart decisions? Revealing Michael Michele to be an idiot? Is this HOUSE? Did I watch the right show?

fffaw- 11-13-2007

I really liked the episode. Some good laughs. Some good character development (more of Taub's backstory). More Chase! Wicca shoutout! The ending was hilarious. Poor House. Heh. And MM is gone. Everyone can calm down now. :-) I'm going to have to rewatch - I know I'm forgetting some things. It's amazing how beautiful everyone looked in black and white - House and Chase especially.

Taiga- 11-13-2007

Oh, and I was curious to see if Thirteen would avoid being on camera. She didn't, so she's not hiding from someone.

Siriusly- 11-13-2007

I am in deep psychic pain. I actually think I'm getting a migraine from all the het! of this episode. The "blew the janitor" line was not even slashy. How the ***** do you keep that line from being slashy, I don't know! But they did! They somehow made it no big deal. What the heck. I am in so much turmoil. The show is having an effing identity crisis and my brain is suffering. edited for capslock abuse

shutterbug12- 11-13-2007

That last scene with appalled!House had me dying with laughter... Me too! That was great. :D I really loved this episode. And finally, we have the "Blue the janitor" moment. Hee.

Maison- 11-13-2007

I liked this episode. A lot. I love meta episodes when the show can make it work, and House made it work. (I especially loved House's horror at the editing job the producers pulled on him.) YAY FOR MORE CHASE! It wasn't enough screentime for my tastes, but it's a significant improvement over what we've had lately (which was practically nothing).

vitawash99- 11-13-2007

OMG, show! I've missed you so much! Great House/Wilson interaction! Snazzy, funny Cuddy! Really funny Wilson (House is a Wiccan...)! I liked Taub's secrets unfolding, House figuring out how to use Kutner's powers of crazy for good, Amber's sly little smile as Terzi bit the dust, and Thirteen made a cool catch. As a bonus, Chase seems allergic to cameras (how very meta, since JS practically grew up on film) and Cameron is the worst girlfriend ever (and so very funny in those scenes). If she is indeed a girlfriend. And the editor pwns everybody in the end. Hah.

SaphronGirl- 11-13-2007

I was really disappointed that House suddenly couldn't think clearly around a pretty girl. WTF? What do you call Cameron and Cuddy? Whatever. Yeah, that annoyed me too... though I think he was kind of playing it up when he asked Kutner to repeat Thirteen. The line about Foreman being gay had me chuckling.
