(And pain? Has he met the dominatrix from season one?)
Harold & Kumar go to an S&M Dungeon?
Nah. Harold is too busy in New York, either as an accountant for a fashion magazine (Ugly Betty) or as a high priced attorney for an "evil" giant law firm. (How I Met Your Mother.) Seriously, John Cho was everywhere this week.
If House can tell the difference between the vicodin & laxatives, doesn't it mean he took the later deliberately?
It means that he can tell because he still has pain. And, you know, the bathroom thing. Birth control pills is going to take 28 days or so until you know that they're not working. (Which is one of the reasons that they have people on long-term birth control pills -- three months or more without a period -- to take pregnancy tests regularly. Just in case.)

"I haven't signed off on this"?!? WTF? Cuddy said he was "her eyes", not that she was putting him in charge again
And IMO the newbies knew this in the scene where they walked out & Taub offers his condolences.
So Taub has the hots for Amber?

So, does anyone think Cameron knew about the betting scam between House and Chase? I didn't think she was in on it.
I don't think she knew, she looked kind of surprised and confused, whereas Chase was beaming.

it does mean we now have canon confirmation that House and Chase have met offscreen
Not for the first time; of the Original Fried Ducklings, Chase is the only one to have done so & has done so repeatedly in the past at that.
Did anyone catch the writer of this ep?
Ranee - it was David Foster - he also wrote DNR, Mob Rules, TB or Not TB, All In, Informed Consent and Needle in a Haystack.

My least favorite episode this season, mostly because of the House/Cuddy feud. They both came off like jerks. An ep like this, so jokey and lightweight, makes me nostalgic for the Tritter arc. If I'm going to have to accept unreality, let it be unreality in service to a plot with some depth, with a lead character I can care about. Not this nonsense like the cafeteria scene and putting laxatives in a pill bottle. This is a world-renowned department head and a dean of medicine, for crying out loud! Have some respect for the characters!
I was OK with the Survivor game because there were still some places for House to be real, but not tonight. They truly have turned him into an adolescent boy. The only saving grace was that he did get the diagnosis.
Writers, what's happened to House's pain? A reference to Vicodin doesn't cut it. If I had just started watching this season, I'd think he was a common-or-garden jerk. Is that what made the show a hit? I think not. Can we please get back to the damaged genius of S1 and parts of 2&3? Please?
The Foreman reintroduction was better than I expected, though, probably because it was overshadowed by House's obnoxious response to it.
SaphronGirl- 10-30-2007
Okay, so if House knew that Cuddy had switched his Vicodin (as he said, he can tell the difference), does that mean he was faking the diarrhea just to irritate Foreman?
LOL.
LightMyCandle- 10-30-2007
Oh, that scene with House and the patient at the end (even though he was dressed like my grandpa) reminded my of why I love him. Some episodes, I forget, it's nice to be reminded that I do love House (the character) and there's a reason for it.

Hi Everybody. I have been lurking for a while now, but I really liked this episode. Does anyone think that the last scene between House, Cuddy, and the patient was Cuddy's attempt to give way and stroke House's "huge ego" like Wilson suggested she should?
Ranee- 10-30-2007
Thanks for the info, iamdaffodils! That's a good track record & explains the nice Wilson scenes (& the Foreman emphasis).
simlah74, hi! I really wonder about that - I'm going to have to watch again to make a final decision for myself, but I think its a very valid view of Cuddy at the end.
DrSpaceman- 10-30-2007
So we now have confirmation that Cuddy has given up on pregnancy for the time being.

I too thought it was House pulling an LBJ. Lyndon Johnson used to famously hold meetings while sitting on the john - some kind of twisted power ploy to embarrass his underlings while emphasizing that even while taking a crap he was still better than them.

I hear you there. While we're at it, let's get back to some really compelling medical mysteries, please.

Welcome simlah and wow, that's an amazing idea. That never occurred to me. My impression was that the guy was too good and could tell if they were faking, but do we know that?
Cuddy's back on birth control, I really am stupid tonight because I missed that. Interesting. I thought that maybe she had given up, looks like she has - for now.
So Cuddy didn't offer Chase the position she offered Foreman in 'Resignation'. That was dumb of her.

That is awesome.

Very dumb of her. But then they've dumbed down Cuddy so much since the first season, I hardly recognize her.
