And it reminded me of the jacket scene, "it keeps me warm and it keeps me cool: how does it know? (hair flip)" A classic.

I don't want to know, I don't want to know, I don't want to know...... O God, I do want to know, is this really true about the hairpiece?

sweet fern- 10-14-2007

If you really want to know....http://www.houseisright.com/2007/05/29/788/

Oh hell, I KNEW I didn't want to know.....

So Hugh Laurie wears a hair piece. Big whoop. The guy's had a noticeable bald spot since Jeeves and Wooster. To continue the trend of upsetting surprises: J-Mo's been dyeing her hair since season one Lisa E. has had her hair straightened on occasion. And considering her age, she probably dyes it black. (And I don't think her chest is nearly as impressive as its made out to be on the show.) RSL seems to be on some sort of yo-yo diet Omar Epps--is he losing his hair, too? He's really adopted the shaved look Jesse--looks pretty good, actually. But he's young. Give him a few more years to lose those golden locks. Is everyone okay now?

jonne- 10-14-2007

I'm totally OK with a bald spot, not with the covering up bit!

Lulu- 10-14-2007

Aah.. reminds me of when Wilson stayed with House in s2... "I'll be out of your hair tomorrow.. what's left of it.."

I'm totally OK with a bald spot, not with the covering up bit! Yes, but obviously American TV executives aren't. It's obvious from HL's abandonment of the hairpiece when he's off set that wearing it is not his choice; it's something he has to do for the show. Because you know, American audiences (especially females), are so shallow that they couldn't possibly find a man with thinning hair attractive, regardless of the obvious love for characters like Jean-Luc Picard and Tony Soprano. /sarcasm On topic, I found it interesting the way that, after the confrontation with Chase and Cameron in the lobby, House kept looking back at the door through which they'd left, even while his new assistants were quoting new PoTW symptoms at him. He looked almost as if he were thinking about taking them up on Chase's offer of help--and I wish he had!

Recaplet Anyone know why Sars wrote the 97 Seconds recaplet & not Sara M? I'm bitter, but still on topic, because it doesn't mention key detail of The Scene. (WFT?) More particularly, are the events of the ep supposed to occur on the same day - would the PotW die that quickly after not taking the pills? because otherwise wouldn't housekeeping have swept up the pill cup even if it was late at night?. Where's the WNJ? I ask because it seemed like Chase & Cameron were leaving for the day (though maybe it was just a quickie for lunch ;D ).

Where's the WNJ? I ask because it seemed like Chase & Cameron were leaving for the day (though maybe it was just a quickie for lunch ;D ). Hmm, I assumed House zapped himself at night because Wilson was in his normal clothes and looked like he'd had to come back in. The pillcup was under the cart - maybe they just have bad housekeepers?

Ranee- 10-14-2007

I'm still figuring this out myself, but its night when House zaps himself - he's out in the hospital room for at least a couple of hours? Wilson comes in to see him & then isn't it the next morning when Wilson tells the Newbies that House is out? Maybe it isn't & its still later that night - I need to check their clothes. It just seems odd that housekeeping wouldn't have been through (I work in a hospital complex & they come through a couple of times a day - & the janitor from Alone was there in House's office during the day).

Recaplet Anyone know why Sars wrote the 97 Seconds recaplet & not Sara M? I'm bitter, but still on topic, because it doesn't mention key detail of The Scene. (WFT?) It's also weird because Sars graded the ep already. In the past the recapper didn't grade the ep until she posted the recap. Maybe no more recaps? Not sure bout the timing of the ep, but I did love the way House's mind finally worked in a Holmseian way at the end, challenging all the most basic assumptions to bring out the truth: she gave him the pills but did he actually take them? Not only does everybody lie, everybody makes assumptions, a fair percentage of which are bound to be wrong. Part of House's genius is the abiilty to not only do the math, but break down the problem to such a fundamental level that he can ascertain which parts of the equation are, in fact, unverified, and therefore suspect in causing the seemingly right answer to fail. Excellent job, writers!

Namaste- 10-14-2007

Actually, different recappers grade different ways. Some will grade after first viewing, some don't post their grade until after they re-re-re-view and think things through. And in terms of Sars writing the recaplet rather than Sara M... it happens sometimes. Usually if a recapper isn't available to do it immediately (I recall Couch Baron did a few early recaps to help out when Sara M moved). Personally, I'd love for the show to have a different recapper than Sara M, but I wouldn't count on any changes just because of the recaplet.

Upon rewatch, I noticed that House doesn't go off on the POTW until the latter mentions wanting to escape his "useless body." That prompts House's diatribe, basically telling the patient that there is no escape, and proceeds his little electroshock experiment.

arizonamyrie- 10-15-2007

That prompts House's diatribe, basically telling the patient that there is no escape, and proceeds his little electroshock experiment. Which, I just realized he did only to prove this point to the patient, who actually did escape his body. This is why House want to see the PotW after he first awakens. He already knew going into it what was there while he was clinically dead, he just wanted to prove the point to the patient that he couldn't escape the physical.
