My first post back since my surgery (am on Vicodin now--have to say it not as good as House would have you believe) and can't stay on long because not feeling well, but wanted to post.
This ep seemed to cement different tone to show this season. Wasn't bad (and some genuine good moments), but still needs to grow on me. Miss ducklings terribly (ok...mostly Chase), so was nice to see them. Not very fond of new bunch, save, perhaps, 13 and the Mormon.
Still think Chase in surgery and Cameron in ER is idiotic. Loved Chase schooling the new kids as he watched House and Co. from gallery. Just proved House's diagnosis of Chase's abilities before kicking him out correct (and that he's wasting his talent in surgery).
Love Carmen Argenizano, so is happy 26 may stick around. As for Wilson toying with House--let's not forget that Wilson is a bastard, too. Just a more charming bastard than House. Cuddy...want first-season Cuddy back.

Regarding the preview for next week - we do get clinic duty. And was that Anne Dudek's character (whatever her number is) doing CPR on House? If so, guess she'll be staying for awhile.
I'm going to paste that question over to the spoiler discussion thread for follow up.
I didn't count numbers exactly, but I don't think the twins got fired at the end (15a & 15b weren't called), a dozen or so were gone in that last scene so maybe we're down to 15 - 18?

Is it sad that the best part of this ep. for me was the bagel/coffee sharing between House and Wilson? I feel like that's sad. I mean the food sharing is an important part of the show for me and frankly I'd be lost without it but there really should be something in it that exceeds that.

I despised this episode! I thought the writing was just not well-edited. It read like either a mediocre first draft or a really decent episode that had been edited too much. They crammed so much in there that so many lines just completely flew over my head, and I do honestly feel like I can keep up with this show usually. I love the intelligent inside jokes this show usually spews, but this episode just felt OFF. I didn't laugh once and I was very annoyed with Cuddy, which is also weird for me because I am not one of the usual chorus of viewers chanting that she doesn't act like a Dean of Medicine. Usually I don't care. But I did not like her scenes this episode at all. It all felt very false to me.
OH AND WILSON, my darling Wilson. The character and RSL can do no wrong, IMHO, and the last scene between House and Wilson was rapid-fire and well done. But I, too, am so sick of LyingToHouseForHisOwnGood!Wilson I want to stone the television. DAVID SHORE, COME BACK! LAWRENCE KAPLOW, WE NEED YOU MORE THAN "K-VILLE" DOES!

Tidings of good health sherlock21b. Carmen A=Scooter, right? Coolness.
And for everyone who didn't like the episode, more or less hate than the 2nd ep of S3 (Cane and Able)?

Yeah, I have to agree that that was the best part of the show. It's sad.
Come here GG-I want to introduce you to my friend.
My Friend Flicka!
I don't get it *is dense*

sherlock21b - glad to see you came through surgery okay and are recovering. Rest! We want you back soon and posting up a storm. :-)
I thought that 26 was Anne Dudek? I'm a bit confused by all these numbers.

Very much bored by this one Not interested in the patient. Didn’t like any of the female candidates except #2 who got sent off. Like all the Guys (including #10 alas also gone).
Nice H/W moments but not enough. I don't mind Wilson lying to House so much, that's what he does. It's his way of trying to get House to think twice about something that he would rather dismiss.
ITA re. Cameron smug-o-rama, she knows House couldn’t kill POTW’s dream, I wished someone would kill Cameron.
Re next week Promo Spoiler not looking fwd to the silly Survivor scene, I hate the actual show.
But intrigued, by Wilson maybe inadvertently prompting House to try to kill himself temporarily. Didn’t House get close enough last Xmas w/ the Oxy and Marker’s Mark? Looks interesting.Spoiler
ETA, sorry for the goof on the promo talk.

IMO the way K-ville is going, I think it might be likely he'll be back soon.
I'm confused by the numbers too, I just know Anne Dudek is Amber.
sherlock21b, glad you're up & around, hope you're recovering well!

Oooh, and ITA LightMyCandle. I missed a lot of the dialogue during that scene, though, because I was watching it with a group of like 30 people in my dorm. What exactly were they saying? All I got was House mentioning that he'd seen Chase and Cameron and Wilson making some comment about a blonde Cameron being a mix of Chase and Cameron. Yuck, I typed "Cameron" wayyy too many times in this post already..
Can someone with DVR or TiVo or something tell me the dialogue between House and Wilson during the bagel-in-coffee scene?
Thanks in advance.
Regarding "K-Ville"-- is it just viewership that sucks or is the show crummy? I hope it's a good show, quality-wise, because a family friend works on it and if it gets cancelled he's out of a job.
And I really think what this episode was missing was David Shore's helping hand.

Hey-one can never have too many suicide attempts!
Although I suspect that's one of them thar fakeouts Fox is so fond of. I'll bet there's no almost dead House next week. Maybe Cameron will stick her fork in a light socket and hallucinate that scene with House...right before she passes into nothingness. That would be cool. And a happy ending, too!

Wow, this is really interesting. So many people giving thumbs down or sideways. I thought this episode would go over well. To me, it's a welcome return to S1/2 where the focus is on the hospital and the job. I felt like I was getting my old show back (though a tad lighter in tone).
I agree. I thought this episode was utterly fantastic. I laughed even more than last week. I liked or was intrigued by all of the candidates. I felt real empathy for the patient. The only sour note was the House and Wilson scenes. Good grief, RSL is a hammy actor. Please tone it down.

Well I'm happy Chase got the diagnosis and looked hot getting it right. A lot of the NKOTB tonight (great nickname!), guess that will change somewhat once the survivors are established, but took away from House face time this episode. And oh dear...I think I'm going to hate 13 more than Cameron, if that's possible. Maybe Cam and 13 can have a battle to the death and both lose. Loved Scooter, liked Taub, Mormon guy is OK, 6/9 seemed to me like just another smart ass for now. If Foreman is back, Anne Dudek's character can go, and quickly...he brings more than enough obnoxiousness (is that a word?) for one television program. I really enjoyed Wilson for a change, Cuddy...well she continues to look great at least.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's slow down with the blaming Wilson. Just kidding, I know what you're saying. Oooh, maybe we'll get some guilty!Wilson? Is there such a Wilson?

Only if it can be a really long barbecue fork with room for Foreman to be holding on to it too.
