The thing about Cuddy's remark about the patient silently screaming, if House had solved the case a day or two more quickly, maybe the boyfriend & mother would have been with Megan when she passed even if they couldn't have done any thing for her, but it would have helped them. Just terribly sad all around.

Did anyone else get the "limp dick" subtext when Cuddy pulled the amp cord? She kind of held it droopy and then House held it straight up, right?
Also, H in glasses is my new reason for living! Got Dayum!!
I thought I was reading something into that scene that wasn't there, but glad you thought that too olivia - either that or our minds are both in the gutter! I know mine is anyway....and Hugh in glasses - oh yeah. :D
I know the writers put that in there! Only the clever smutty people notice!!

Some of you mentioned the "slower pace". To me it felt great. Some of the past shows do cram so much complicated info that I can't keep up.
I didn't notice a slower pace at all. Or a quicker one. I just know that I wasn't bored at all watching it.

Okay, I really have to go to bed now. A couple of good night notes, a) excellent way to kick off my premiere week. b) props to continuity all around I got it with House and the brief reference to the ADs and NCIS. I love writers who remember stuff.
I wasn't especially interested in the POTW, I rarely am but the ending did break my heart.

NCIS?

Did any of you Huddy shippers notice how close H and C were when they were talking in one of the scenes with the bf and the mother? Nobody (unless they're about to kiss) talks that closely in real life. I think they were leaning against the desk?
They do this once in a while (like on the plane). Actually the do it pretty often.

I didn't notice. I was honestly so caught up in all the House and Wilson goodness to even notice. Heh. I'll have to rewatch and take a look.

Why thank you olivia! The smutty part is a given for me - the clever, not so much :)

I have to ask, as well, "NCIS"?
And can we talk about gay!nurse/Wilson shipping possibilities? There were two scenes between them! Granted, they were each about ten seconds long, and RSL wasn't playing Wilson as though he were interested, but I SEE POTENTIAL and no one can convince me otherwise. It sounds like a great fanfic.

Doctor Scruffy can smell a Guest at thirty paces. Come, join, lurk, meet new people or post your opinions at House's House of Whining.

I missed the NCIS thing too. Information please?
I am very happy, much happier than I though I would be, great episode, sweet dreams of House & Wilson to all! Night!
olivia720- 09-25-2007
I liked this ep a lot more than I thought I would. When S3 premiered, I wasn't disappointed per se, but something was off to me. Tonights show really exceeded my expectations. I was just rollicking in the aisles.
I also wanted to say I love you guys! This board is so much fun! :)

On the issue of House needing a team and whether or not that makes him seem like less of the world-famous diagnostician he's supposed to be:
I think the state of the whiteboard by the end of the episode was an excellent visual metaphor for what was going on. It was completely full and completely crowded with symptoms and notes. This is probably the fullest it's ever been except for in Meaning (those were years of symptoms) and Failure to Communicate (which technically weren't symptoms, but a draft for the aphasiac-English dictionary). That whiteboard needed some major weed-whacking from someone who had the benefit of not living inside House's head. He's essentially like a brilliant writer who, no matter how brilliant, still needs his editors to help the process along.
That said, Cuddy saying "any one of them would have solved this days ago" was way too heavy-handed. Erk. Wasn't the point supposed to be that they were a team?

Yes, please! I'll join this ship in a heartbeat. (Or is it only a sailboat as of now?)

Thing about the Cameron-type in the ER - a carbon copy so easily found. Blake's telling us Cameron's not that unique. I'd have preferred some more subtle refs to all the kids from the people interacts with rather than one sledge hammer, but the implications that a Cameron copy is standing there right around the corner is interesting. If you've got access to her, why do you need Cameron?
I found that totally bizarre, because it lifted *so much* of what we know about Cameron...although apparently if you lead off with the creepy sadism, it's less alarming. It's like why point out that a character isn't that special? Unless of course, it's later to make a point that indeed, there is something special, even if it can't be seen initially. But I found her no more charming than the original recipe. (On the other hand, this does explain why (spoilers) Cameron ends up in the ER. She's just going to Single White Female that chick and take her place.
RSL (and Wilson) rocked all corners of ass tonight. The guitar string scene was so, so perfect.

I did notice that...it was funny because I wouldn't have found it odd if they were whispering to each other - but the family was right there, and they really weren't.
I think Lisa Edelstein must do all that yoga so she can breathe through her eyeballs or something. Because clearly, the costume designer is attempting to impede the movement of her lungs. Or anything else, for that matter.
I also thought Cute Male Nurse should be someone's boyfriend.

I knew something was up at the beginning, when "Megan" woke up and Cuddy was talking to her. When she saw the boyfriend she got a panicked look on her face and immediately tried to talk. I thought it was going to turn out she had amnesia or something, so kudos to the director (and the actress, who did a good job with a busted up face and 99% sleeping time).
