Wilson prepares to transplant bone marrow from Matty to his brother Nick. But when Matty gets sick, the team must cure him as he's the only safe donor. Meanwhile Foreman deals with the consequences of his mistake and House has a battle of wills with his new pet Hector.
Damn, I loved the H/W moments in this episode.
I'd forgotten how much I disliked House in this episode. Calling Wilson a coward and torturing poor Hector? Not cool House, not cool at all.

Now, come on, he apologized, he took it back but I choose to believe he meant it. Plus he asked Wilson out to a movie, I can't hate him that much.
That dog is just too cute for words, especially limping away at the end.
Wilsun knows dat Howse totally meant it when he said he was sowwy.
;)
I find it interesting that Wilson himself never appears to care at all about his former dog. After hearing that Hector might be dead, he's nonplussed, even after deducing that House did it deliberately. He's also not bothered at all by Hector's limp.
I was just watching this episode and, yeah, I thought it was weird that Wilson didn't seem to care much for Hector, or about the fact that House was trying to kill him. The whole dog "torture" plot might have intended to be funny, but it just left me cringing. And Wilson's "so have you killed Hector yet?" line was so ... wrong.
Sure, House is an ass, but slamming doors in a dog's face? Trying to overdose the dog on drugs? Leaving the door open so the dog escapes and gets run over? That's harsh, even by House's standards.
(though the final scene where Wilson walked a limping Hector down the hall was adorable. I reckon the hospital staff would have had a nice laugh over Wilson's dog having a limp like House).
I love this episode, it's one of my favorites from S3.
I never thought that Wilson took House's threat seriously, or that House really wanted to kill Hector. And at the end, when Wilson noticed Hector's limp, he gave House a significant glance - like he couldn't believe that Hector was hurt. And if House was really that bad with him, Hector would never look at him the way he did at the end - despite all his complaints, I still think, that House and Hector were kindred spirits.
I've been watching S3 over and over again lately, and I think I have watched this one the most. It is definitly one of my all time favorites. I guess I love it so much because Wilson is in nearly every single scene, or it seems like it, but also because there is just so much in it. Even after watching in many, many times, I still am finding more and more in it, and with each time I am only starting to get what it means. I am surprised that this isn't a more discussed and referenced episode, here and on the internet in general.
There are just so many moments in this one, too many too write about at once. But a few that I keep watching are of course the "you're a coward scene", and for some reason the scene in the OR where we just see a glimpse of Wilson as they are starting the operation on Matty. I guess that to me, there are few other moments in the entire series, that display Wilson's immense insecuries as markedly as that brief glimpse of him.
And I can watch the antique shop scene over and over again. I guess that is one scene in which Wilson's love and devotion to House is totally indeniable and unmistakable, or something like that.
I also think that is right after this scene that Wilson actually does start taking the anti-depressants.
I didn't mean to ramble on and on, but I just love this episode so much.
*sigh*
Just wish the current episodes were half as good as this one.
I'm watching this episode right now. It's one of my favourites but it is really sad at the end. I don't think House tried to actually Overdose Hector but everything else was purely on purpose.
