3.19 Act Your Age
From tv.com: A 6-year-old girl suffers ailments expected in patients much older. Tensions between Chase and Cameron lead House to intentionally assign them to the same tasks, including investigating the young girl's home.

Having just posted a hatchet job on my most detested ep of season 3 (FP) I feel the need to purge myself with a declaration of LOVE for this, my favourite ep of season 3. I could watch all the H/W bits til the cows come home and they are just full of fabulous quotes. The whole House giving Wilson tickets to the play. Wilson's disappointment that House didn't want to go with him! Dudes only go to plays if they're dragged by women they're hoping to see naked. The cafeteria 'Seriously?' scene. Espcially Wilson's facial expressions as he suckers House each time. HL & RSL just absolutely act their socks off here. If I could ask either of them one question in RL I would ask them how they came to play this scene how they did, how much rehearsing, discussion etc there was. Because I think its utterly perfect. The No no no, she wants to see ME naked. She sent me flowers! scene. When I think of Wilson running away at the end I just want to laugh all over again. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the scene in House's office at the end. You OK? - House's concern for Wilson at the very start - so rarely seen, let's face it. The absolutely brilliant Just... be straight with her. / I'm not sure what that is exchange. House trying not to corpse as Wilson pushes him. I'll either get a girlfriend or get fired. And then a splendid repeat of 'Seriously?' And then they even say 'night' to each other, so all's right with the world! Oh so much love - I feel the need to watch all those bits again. Other stuff? All pales in comparison but I remember being surprised at the time by finding myself quite enjoying the Cameron/Chase stuff (with the little boy being jealous of Chase).

Uh, what hwshipper said. Without a doubt one of my favourite episodes and certainly one of the best H/W episodes ever. I remember the endless spazzing done by H/W shippers everywhere when this episode first aired, which just made everything even more enjoyable. And of course, it marked the return of the 'Goodnights' of Words and Deeds. Wonderful.

There was other stuff? I don't even remember the patient of the week. All I remember was the glorious H/W and the fantastic acting of HL and especially RSL in this episode. I need to figure out how to get the H/W things of this episode on my iPod. I just want to watch it over and over and over again.

I really enjoyed this episode too. It was great for House/Wilson and pretty good for Chase/Cameron and it was pre-Emo!Foreman. All in all, I liked the plot and the way it played out. This was one of the episodes that had me laughing.

Act Your Age is my absolute favorite episode so far. I could not express my love for it enough. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the scene in House's office at the end. You OK? - House's concern for Wilson at the very start - so rarely seen I know, I loved seeing that and I really hope we get to see it again next season, preferably for longer than one second next time though but my God at that point I was taking what I could get and I still love that line. I remember the endless spazzing done by H/W shippers everywhere when this episode first aired, which just made everything even more enjoyable. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with the fact that we had just been put through two H/Wless episodes which was hell and something I refuse to go through again.

Oh man, I hated that. Airborne and FP? Ick. My dislike of them increased because they were next to one another

Taiga- 08-18-2007

I like to imagine a scene where Wilson let Cuddy in on the joke and got her to storm into House's office ranting about how she just fired Wilson because he kissed her.

Oh man, I hated that. Airborne and FP? Ick. My dislike of them increased because they were next to one another  That definately didn't help matters there. Those two(with OD/OR) round out my top 3 worst episodes of season 3. Taiga, I was hoping Cuddy was in on it. That might be the only thing that would have made this episode even better.

The only problem with this episode is, I already overuse the word 'seriously'. Now whenever I say it, an image of House and Wilson pops into my head. Oh wait, that's not a problem.

I think I'm the only one in this thread who loved this episode not only for the massive amounts of H/W, but for the H/Cu and H/Cu/W that went right along with it. At least in my mind. Gahdzuks at LJ told me that my OT3 was contagious and taking over. That was their best night ever. Even better than House vs. Wilson for Cuddy in 'Who's Your Daddy?' Hee.

Saw this epi last night, and I would buy the sea. 3 DVD-box (only 7 more weeks to wait) just for some of the scenes in this. Apart from the obvious House Wilson (sorry no /) scenes I also loved the October October scene. Do you think that House knew that Wilson knew(?) at the scene at his office? I think he did, after all he did tell Cuddy about sending the flowers, and I believe he thought she would question Wilson about it. Does this all still make sense to you? I can not really understand why House insisted on Wilson taking the tickets in the first place. What was he trying to do? In some way I would like to believe that he planned the whole thing, but then, he could not have known for certain Wilson would ask Cuddy, so that doesn't really go. I didn't care for the POTW scenario. Once again the Sex Kills thing, in which House can show his remarkable knowledge about weird stuff that can improve stamina in middle-aged men.

Taiga- 10-19-2007

I can not really understand why House insisted on Wilson taking the tickets in the first place. What was he trying to do? I took that part at face value. He was given the tickets, didn't want to go because he's not interested in theatre, gave them to his friend. If Wilson had taken anyone other than Cuddy (or a duckling) to the play it probably would have been the end of it.

You are definitely not alone in this, Angelfirenze! I loved that Wilson understands how much Cuddy means to House and that Wilson chose to tease and prod House in this way, perhaps to get him to take those "small steps" Wilson keeps recommending. This set of exchanges to provoke House's jealousy about Cuddy perfectly paralleled Wilson's teasing of House about Cameron in season one when Wilson pretended that he had indeed made a move on her and chortled at House's flash of fear. House the eight year old boy seems stuck at the pigtail-pulling stage with Cuddy and Wilson seems determined to shove him across the school yard towards her.

House the eight year old boy seems stuck at the pigtail-pulling stage with Cuddy and Wilson seems determined to shove him across the school yard towards her. Shoving him across the yard towards her or awkwardly pulling her pigtails himself? I think Strong!Woman!Cuddy scared him, but I'm still not convinced that Wilson wasn't a little interested at first.
