3.11 Words and Deeds
From tv.com: House splits his time between treating a firefighter for uncontrollable shivering, giving Tritter a piece of his mind, and handling his trial for forging prescriptions.

I couldn't believe it when they gave that firefighter electroshock therapy to erase his memory. Could. Not. Believe. It.

I couldn't believe it when they gave that firefighter electroshock therapy to erase his memory. Could. Not. Believe. It. Same here, I still can't believe that they actually did that. I still have an insane amount of love for the end scene. I will never get tired of watching that.

Oh man, that whole POTW story was messed up. It was horrible. This is the episode where Cameron gets strangled though... It's also the episode of Wilson's weird chair readjustment thing and The Gift of the Tie. It also started the goodnight Wilson/goodnight House thing. How could I not love it?

It also started the goodnight Wilson/goodnight House thing. How could I not love it? I also have fond memories of that  Ah, yes. The infamous 'Cameron gets strangled' episode. One of the highlights of this, in my opinion. *edited for stray tag -ecat

Ah, yes. The infamous 'Cameron gets strangled' episode. One of the highlights of this, in my opinion. Was I the only one saying "yes! Kille her! Kill her!" Too mean? :?

galaxygirl- 08-18-2007

No you weren't LightMyCandle, I was doing the same thing.

Norah- 08-18-2007

I couldn't believe it when they gave that firefighter electroshock therapy to erase his memory. Could. Not. Believe. It. That was the most insane medical thing I've ever seen on this show. My mom was screaming at the tv throughout the whole thing. I can't believe the writers even thought of something so looney.

Besides which, Electric Shock Therapy doesn't cause permanent memory loss. People often have memory lapses about the period right around the treatement -- as they often do around any traumatic incident. If there is memory loss of earlier times, the memory almost always returns (slowly). Even if the firefighter is one of those rare people who do suffer permanent memory loss, it would have been even more absurd for them to have counted on that than it was for House to think of it in the first place.

Hated, hated, hated the POTW story. The brightest spot of it was definitely Cameron being strangled. Love how she doesn't bother to ask Amy if she was engaged to POTW's brother. Uh, might have kept you from frying a guy's brain for nothing Cam. But yes, I have endless love for the last scene, and then HL lying on the jail cot with one leg propped up. Oh my.

Poeia- 09-19-2007

Love how she doesn't bother to ask Amy if she was engaged to POTW's brother. Uh, might have kept you from frying a guy's brain for nothing Cam. Mistakes are as serious as the results they cause! And that one was serious.

sasmom- 09-19-2007

That was a dreadful error in judgment on Cameron's part, since she was the one with the information. When they told House, I'm sure he assumed that she had verified that the information was correct. Yet, in the end he used the word "we" when discussing that they should have been better than they were in diagnosing and curing the potw. I would lay none of the blame for that on House in this instance. In Housetraining I definitely lay some of the blame on House. His "yes, I am that good," smugly and arrogantly proclaimed to the patient I'm certain came back to haunt him through the season finale.

Words and Deeds was ruined by two things for me: a) Absolutely craptacular medicine and b) the idiocy of sending a chronic pain patient to a 12-step programme.

Hibernia- 09-20-2007

the idiocy of sending a chronic pain patient to a 12-step programme. Hear hear!! I've said it before (this is a hang-up of mine): WHY is it so hard to understand someone in chronic pain actually needs painkillers to, oh, I don't know, function?!

Wasn't this ep. nominated for something? I can't remember.
