3.07 Son of a Coma Guy From tv.com:
House decides to awaken a comatose patient so he can question the man regarding the family history of his son, who may have a genetic condition and the father is the only living relative. Meanwhile, Wilson confronts House about the stolen prescription pad as Tritter approaches Cameron, Chase, and Foreman in an attempt to divide the team and reveal their loyalties.

This is by far my favorite episode from season 3. I still have to watch the last two, but I doubt I'll gonna change my mind.
So many wonderful moments between H/W - and the PotW was awesome too!
I loved it, loved it!

There are no words for how much I love this episode. I even loved the POTW (seriously rare for me). Just wonderful.
Besides, it has the line "Maybe I don't want to push this till it breaks." Aw.

I love Dan Fielding(can't spell the actor's name, this is easier and more fun), he's a great actor and was fantastic in this episode. Might have been my favorite PotW, but he wasn't the patient lol. The H/W was awesome, especially in light of what was coming after this episode.

You make a good point that John Larroquette's character technically wasn't the patient. Dammit, once again I'm back to not liking any POTWs.
But I truly loved him. If only because he gave us a House/Wilson road trip.

I also love this ep, once I got over my initial disappointment that coma guy wasn't THE coma guy! Because...
Wilson repeatedly demonstrates his unconditional love for House. He lends House money, lets him take his car, moves mountains to try and get the POTW his hoagie, and gives House his alibi in the casino. Which is one of the funniest scenes in canon IMHO - I couldn't believe it when Wilson said to the woman Do you like to swing?
There are the classic quotes:
Wilson: One day, our friendship will break and it'll just prove your theory that relationships are conditional and you don't need human connection or deserve it or whatever goes on in that rat maze of your brain.
And House, later: Maybe I don't wanna push this 'til it breaks.
OH BLISS...
Its another heaven-sent ep for backstory geeks.
House: The delusion that fathering a child installs a permanent geyser of unconditional love -
Wilson: Maybe your father's feelings were conditional, not everyone's -
The whole House answering questions, the answers to which I choose to believe are absolute canon.
Also: Wouldn't we all like to meet Wilson's assistant, who gets namechecked? (Does he/she appear in any fanfic?)
And finally: we in this forum should especially REVERE this ep because it gave us our name -
House's house of whining. State your complaint.

I especially liked Wilson's eyeroll while trying to talk to that woman.

My fav ep of S3 - as you can tell by my forum name.
Every part of this ep was pure gold, too bad it wasn't nominated for an Emmy.

I was talking about Wilson's assistant in another thread and it got me thinking... How did the assistant know about the stolen prescription pad? Tritter told her? Wilson told her? Everybody knew about that except the ducklings? Any thoughts?
Taiga- 09-03-2007
I figured that Tritter questioned her. And probably everyone in the oncology department, too.
hwshipper- 09-03-2007
Do we *know* it's a her? Because for some unknown reason I imagine a him.

How did the assistant know about the stolen prescription pad? Tritter told her?
Total guess, but that's what I think. Wilson's assistant is closer to the fraud than the ducklings, because it was Wilson's pad. Were I a neo-prohibitionist vigilante with a thermometer up my bum, I know I'd investigate the person who does the paperwork.
Lully- 09-03-2007
It's a her, hwshipper
from the episode's transcript:
CAMERON: Something Tritter said. She told me the police think that House stole Wilson's prescription pad and forged his name. Were I a neo-prohibitionist vigilante with a thermometer up my bum, I know I'd investigate the person who does the paperwork.
 That's my guess too. The interesting thing is that apparently the assistant didn't tell anyone, until Cameron asked her.

It's a her, hwshipper
Oops, my bad!
I shall have to shoehorn her into a fanfic at some point.

I love this episode so much. Doris Egan never seizes to amaze me. Every time she works with House and Wilson, their characters wonderfully mature and deepen. More thoughts next time I'll watch it.
