1.13 Cursed From tv.com:
A 12-year-old boy believes he's cursed after a Ouija board tells him he's going to die, and his father makes increasing demands on House as they try to diagnose the boy's pneumonia-like symptoms and incongruous rash. Meanwhile, Chase's estranged father, a renowned doctor from Australia, visits and House invites him to sit in, much to Chase's discomfort. When House diagnoses the boy's illnees, the young patient is forced to face the idea that his father may not be everything he believes.

Loved this episode. It was essential to the Chase development plot and plays a key role later on. I think the only problem I have with this episode is that it was really the only one of it's kind.

Am I the only one who gets completely freaked out by the thought of messing with an Ouja board? That's what I remember thinking when this first aired, why mess with an ouja board lol. It's creepy...

Heh, I remember playing the ouja board when I was little. Very awesome. The glass went all 'ooh, I'm possessed' on us and flew out od our hands, then smashed into a wall.
I still don't get how that happened, but it was still awesome.
This episode was nice - I enjoyed House's whole House-like concern for Chase (which wasn't necessarily concern, but still). But it makes the idea of the House/Chase ship even squickier to me.

I really liked this episode. Leprosy was a very cool disease to throw into the show and I think it was really intentional to play on Chase's past in seminary. You know... Jesus healing all those lepers. Maybe it was the start of the House as Jesus idea that they played on in Finding Judas.

Same here. I love the actor who played Chase's dad, he was awesome on the Pretender

Yeah...if only Rowan Chase weren't dead. It'd be awesome to see him again.

I suppose they could show him in flashback type scenes. That might be cool. Or corny. Depends on the execution.

Maybe they can do a crossover with Ghost Whisperer ;)

The guy who plays Rowan Chase is also in another TV show called 'Carnivale'. His character was really cool too, until he appeared naked halfway through season 2. There are some things I just don't want to see in life, and naked old guy is one of them.
Anyhow, back to this eppy, I like how in the end Chase tells Gabe "You don't hate your dad...ect." becuase it shows us how he really feels about his own father.

This was one of like 2 1/2 episodes with Chase, so of course I like it! :D

I would be screaming my head off if that happened.

I'm watching this in rerun and there's something I hadn't noticed. Especially in the scene where Chase buys the boy a candy bar, his lips are astonishingly red, like scarlet lipstick, or perhaps I need a new TV. Creepy though...

Boffle, no, I noticed that, too. "Uh...why does Chase look like he's wearing makeup?"
I really liked the actor who played Rowan. I just looked him up to see if really is Czech, but he's Belgian. Wonder why they didn't just make him Belgian with a touch of Aussie, then? He's also got a doozy of a name: Patrick Nicolas Jean Sixte Ghislain Bauchau.

Because Chase is such an obviously Czech name?

 You do not need a new tv. There are occasions throughout Season One where they went a little overboard on Chase's makeup.
....
I alwayd did wonder if they had any particular reason for making Chase's dad Czech but it never came up again...so I guess not.
