A 16-year old high school student, Dan, starts suffering from nightmares and frequent hallucinations, and he reveals he was hit in the head while playing lacrosse at school. Dan is apparently suffering from MS, and risky brain surgery is needed. Meanwhile House must deal with a patient looking to set up a lawsuit and a mother who doesn't believe in vaccinations.
Random Thoughts
1. One of my favorite POTW families. Loving, caring, with a strong presence and good foils for House. And Robin Thomas, one of those, "Hey, It's that Guy" that you remember but can can never place with a specific role.
2. First example of House's preocupation with possible child abuse.
3. Yellowtie!Wilson is cute, Skinny!Wilson not so much.
4. Bet! Besides Foreman winning the V-Day bet, has House ever lost? Poor Wilson gets taken for 600!
5. Chase-House "Clever but also pathetic", "Are you guessing?", Yes, "Too bad because you are right"- Love that entire DDX
6. OMG, EvilVaccinationConspiracy!! One of the cutest babies ever! "Tiny baby coffins"
7. Cuddy "My guy will call your guy", "She's good at her job". Those were good times. Oh, Can Cuddy, please, be that awesome again?
8. Night terrors on the roof! Not MS, but the good news are not really good news.
9. House-Wilson lunch date on the patio. Darn, those pesky parents! Get those coffee cups. No, Wilson don't double the bet! Run DNA Test. Twist. Reveal. Eureka moment! It's the vaccination!
10. Is it a dream? Is it a memory? Where did the players go? Song pretty. The End
Just as a note on how tight this show was, House mentions in this episode that sometimes people leave the roof door open to grab a smoke. We later learn from Stacy, during the season finale, that he used to hide in the roof himself, and that's why he thought of that.
HOUSE: 30% of all dads out there don’t realize they’re raising someone else’s kid.
FOREMAN: From what I’ve read false paternity is more like 10%.
HOUSE: That’s what our mom’s would like us to believe.
Takes on new meaning now that we know House was 12 when he figured he was one of the 10-30%.
