I have no idea why Bryan Singer went for that look. It can't be any cheaper to orange filters on the lamps than decent colored ones. It's so bizarre it's only for the first episode. Perhaps it didn't go over well. *shrug* I'm happy the look didn't stay.

It was love at first sight...

I wish they hadn't cut out the cut H/W scene. It mad me sad when I saw it that they cut it out.

I wish they hadn't cut out the cut H/W scene. It mad me sad when I saw it that they cut it out. Are you talking about the scene right at the beginning?

Taiga- 10-03-2007

I think she means the alternate version of that scene, where Wilson grabs House's cane.

I can see why they may have cut the scene (ducks for flying objects) not that it wasn't adorable. Something about the way RSL says those lines is very slashy IMO. His voice gets deeper, "It's important" and House gives one of his trademark coy smiles. I don't know... it would have been perfect later on in the series as viewers are more familiar with the subtext, but I think for the pilot episode they (i.e. the writers) didn't want the viewing audience to explode with the homoerotic potential of House/Wilson. Just to clarify, I'm a bonifide House/Wilson shipper through and through, but it took some time to get to know the characters before I got there. I prefer it that way -- much more subtle. I don't like getting hit over the head with the subtext.

I always liked to think they cut that scene because it'd be so blatant whom should be the main ship on the show... But I believe there's a much simple explanation: that scene also implied Wilson was lying about the patient being his cousin and House knew or suspected it was a lie. If they kept the scene, later when Foreman told us the truth, it wouldn't have had any impact. Pity, it was a great scene.

DrSpaceman- 01-16-2008

RSL was so skinny and his hair was so floppy.

galaxygirl- 01-16-2008

RSL was so skinny and his hair was so floppy. I'm not a big fan of the skinny look on him. I prefer him the way he looks now.

Lully- 01-16-2008

You know, the main reason I can't buy the idea that House and Wilson are about the same age (only five or six years apart) is because RSL's looks in season one. He was 35 at the time but could easily pass to 28... And House seemed older than he is now... Anyway, for me the Wilson's best look was during season 2, specially in Autopsy.

DrSpaceman- 01-16-2008

I agree about vintage season 2 Wilson. I don't like the shaggier hair this season. But it is finally nice to see RSL age over the past couple of years. I was starting to suspect a portrait in the attic.

LightMyCandle- 01-16-2008

I'm not a big fan of the skinny look on him. I prefer him the way he looks now. I used to think I prefered his looks in S1 but I've recently been going over a lot of screencaps and I've realized that I think he is way hotter now than he was then.

Taiga- 01-16-2008

for me the Wilson's best look was during season 2, specially in Autopsy. Me too, it was his best hairstyle.

babyeinstein- 01-17-2008

I agree. Boyfriend is looking so rumpled and shaggy this season (and season 3). I like the shorter sides ala season 2.

So there is Rebecca Adler, sitting in her bed, talking to Wilson, when she suddenly goes blind. Foreman explains that whatever it is is growing deeper into her brain stem and, among other things, soon she'll be blind permanently. Given the different timelines for the different possible diseases, House decides to stop all treatment. Next scene - Foreman asks Cameron to accompany him on the break-in. Next scene - House in the clinic with chronic fatigue guy. Next scene - Foreman and Cameron searching Rebecca's home. He eats her weeks-old ham. Next scene - more DDX. Foreman reveals Rebecca is not Jewish because she eats ham (ever hear of Reform Jews?) and therefore not related to Wilson. This makes House realize that she has a tapeworm. Next scene - House meets Rebecca and gives her the "dying with dignity" speech. Next scene - Wilson explains that she's not just a file to House so he will respect her "no treatment" choice. Chase comes up with the idea of x-raying the worm. Next scene - Chase shows Rebecca the x-ray of the worm on the lightboard. He hands her a cup and she looks in it and says "two pills?" So my question is, when did she regain her sight?
